Parking on our drive.

We had a family day out today, and came back to someone parked on our drive. The car is still there. No sign of the owner.

Bloody cheek. Who does that?

I sure hope your DH has a stroppy way with words if it is the cheeky blockers fuckers at the door.

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 28/06/2015 18:39

Sorry April x post!

Toooldtobearsed · 28/06/2015 18:40

Sorry, X posted!

a nice shaving foam smiley on the bonnet was fun in the 90's .... strips the paint good and proper

StayWithMe · 28/06/2015 18:40

Where are you OP?

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 28/06/2015 18:40

Penguin bollards op. The only deterrent for cheeky parking fucker neighbours!

Lady - I love a Morrisons pea in a pod. We get through bags of them.

lighteningirl · 28/06/2015 18:43

We used to have a business and would arrive Mon morning and find people parked on forecourt so customers couldn't my Dh used to just push cars onto pavement/road and then call the police. It was very entertaining when they turned up later looking for their car he would just shrug and say no idea mate. The only one he couldn't push had left it in gear.

StayWithMe · 28/06/2015 18:44

Xpost. I wouldn't be polite about it OP. If you are then the cheeky fuckers will pay no heed. I'm talking from experience here. If a neighbour acts like an arse and you don't step on it straight away then they'll not take you seriously. Tbh your husband should have told them to get the neighbours over there and then before moving the car.

Lweji · 28/06/2015 18:44

I think you should park on their drive next time is vacant.

SuburbanRhonda · 28/06/2015 18:45

Now that's weird, OP.

You "barely know them", yet they think they know you well enough to tell people you're on holiday? Have you checked whether they have CCTV and whether it's trained on your house?

Hmm
MasterchefIwish · 28/06/2015 18:47

Cheeky people, worse neighbours. I wonder how many times they have done this without you knowing. Or to other neighbours. Talk to the neighbours and see what they say.

Anniegetyourgun · 28/06/2015 18:47

I wouldn't start being angry with the neighbours straight off. The ninja parkers could have been lying.

peaches1999 · 28/06/2015 18:48

My husband is far too laid back and doesn't want to cause a fuss. He has no idea I have posted on here.

I will be going Over to see them tomorrow after some wine to calm down. I want to nip this is the bud before our drive become a public parking place for all our neighbours visitors .
We are in the north east!

Absolutely ridiculous. Tbh, if visited a friend and they said park on that drive they are away, I still wouldn't.

TheCatsMother99 · 28/06/2015 18:50

If that's true, I can't believe your neighbours did that!!! Even if I knew for a fact someone was away I don't think I'd do that. Weirrdddd

PatsyNoPasta · 28/06/2015 18:50

My neighbours son parked his mini on our drive one Friday night. I blocked him in. He asked me to move my car. I said no. He called the police. They told him off for parking on my property and also informed him I did not have to move my car. I left my car there until Monday morning. My lovely neighbours agreed with me. He didn't do it again.

PuppyMonkey · 28/06/2015 18:51

And why couldn't they just park on the road if there were lots of room anyway? Why did they have to have anyone's drive!

I'm good friends with nearly all my neighbours but I'd still never tell friends to do this without having arranged it well in advance with neighbour Shock

peaches1999 · 28/06/2015 18:51

Suburban I didn't think of that. That is weird. Although maybe as we have been out a lot over the weekend and leaving very early and getting
back quite late they might not have seen coming and going

I don't know , but need to calmly discuss it with the people across the road.

Our neighbour's friends did this while we were away. However, they called us to ask if it was OK. We were quite happy as it made our house look occupied. In your case though, bloody cheek!

TheCatsMother99 · 28/06/2015 18:52

MokunMokun · 28/06/2015 18:52

Yes, ask them first before saying anything as the guy might have been lying.

CrystalCove · 28/06/2015 18:55

Even if you were on holiday what kind of neighbour would just assume this is ok?

FruChristerOla · 28/06/2015 18:56

I would be absolutely incensed - but I'm very territorial.

If I were you, peaches, I'd get one of those parking bollards for your drive. PITA to put up and down every time .... but it would certainly lower my blood pressure!
