We had a family day out today, and came back to someone parked on our drive. The car is still there. No sign of the owner.
Bloody cheek. Who does that?

Block them in, when they knock answer the door with a glass of tonic in hand (or wine) and say you'll be moving your car Monday at 8am.

This!

Block it in and then put PJs on and sleep masks on foreheads, nightcaps on heads etc. When they knock, appear outraged and mutter about nightshifts and beauty sleeps being interrupted.

OR pretend to be Icelandic. If they can't explain in Icelandic, you haven't a clue what they want you to do. Smile and mid benignly, muttering "Icelandic?" and then shut the door.

Grrr on your behalf. I'm precious about my driveway and would be hopping mad if I were you.

Very strange to park on someone's drive when there is ample room elsewhere. Are you sure no-one in your family gave someone permission to perhaps leave their car there when they went on holiday or something?

cracks knuckles Excellent! I love a good parking thread. And i would block them in with a note on the car saying 'This driveway belongs to Number **. Please call there when you want to remove this piece of metal'

I have done this as trademen like parking on my driveway behind my house because its easy to reverse onto.

You can block them in on your own drive

Particularly if you can't drive because you've had a glass

However the last time this happened on Mumsnet it was a relative of theirs

You've blocked them in, good, now leave a note saying you are away until Tuesday and go out for the evening.

and keep your fans on MN informed!

I need to know what's happening Grin.

To be honest someone once left 2 horse on my drive before. They has escaped a nearby stables. Someone chases them off the road onto my drive. They then closes the gate and walked off. So this isn't the oddest thing I have heard.

Still want to know whose it is. I would call 101 and report and abandoned car
