To think the SNP are just bullies

Always have been and still are to this day.

Salmond boasting that they will write labours budget. Even though they will only get the similar amount of votes that the greens get. I don't support DC but even he is probably better than as.

Even the Daily Telegraph called it a joke:
In the video, Mr Salmond told a laughing audience how Jim Murphy, the Scottish Labour leader, had said he “will not be writing the Labour party budget”.
He added: “But then I knew that already, because I’m writing the Labour party budget. I will just check my top pocket.”

Hardly bullying. Bullying is cutting your benefits because your house is too big and there's nowhere smaller you can move too.

CrystalCove · 22/04/2015 14:50

Well with everything else that is getting thrown at them bullying is mild I suppose, they have been called Nazis which I find deeply offensive. No I don't think they are bullies but no doubt people will be along soon and this will be added to the many anti-SNP threads that are springing up. David C and Ed M begged Scotland to stay in the Union and said they would have a greater voice...ironic then that when it is likely Scotland will have this "greater voice" they don't like it and Armageddon is practically forecast.

goindowntoyasgursfarm · 22/04/2015 15:18

Hm, bully, bully ... what springs to mind?

To think the SNP are just bullies

Sounds like he is taking the piss out of those daft anti-SNP propaganda posters a while ago and poking fun at those who made them, doesn't sound like bullying to me.

ImperialBlether · 22/04/2015 15:23

At the height of their popularity, in 1974, there were 11 SNP MPs in Westminster.

Now there are 6.

And they think they are going to write Labour's budget? Are they kidding?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/04/2015 15:24

Um, yes, Imperial. It was a joke. Hmm

goindowntoyasgursfarm · 22/04/2015 15:25

Imperial, there will be a heck of a lot more than 6 in a fortnight's time ...

KidLorneRoll · 22/04/2015 15:25

Yes, he was kidding. It was a joke.

ImperialBlether · 22/04/2015 15:27

goindown, that's been said in every election, tbh. It will be interesting, but don't forget 55% voted No in Scotland and of those who voted Yes, a lot were 16-18 year olds.

Sn00p4d · 22/04/2015 15:27

Surely not an anti snp thread on mn?! I am shocked to my very core!

Imperial the SNP have 6 MPs just now out of a possible 59, according to the latest polls this may increase to 40 plus at the expense of Labour seats.

CrystalCove · 22/04/2015 15:31

And "they" don't think they will be writing a Labours budget - it was just AS taking the piss...

I know, Crystal, that it's out of 59 but tbh at every election we're told that this could shoot up. However, that map of 'No' voters showed massive areas where nobody was voting 'Yes' at all - hard to believe they will all vote SNP.

lucycant · 22/04/2015 15:34

The anti SNP rehetoric is because the Tories are trying to scare people into not voting Labour.

ImperialBlether · 22/04/2015 15:36

This map is quite interesting (the first one.)

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/04/2015 15:36

I do not believe that a party, whose stated, primary aim is to break up the UK, will put the best interests of the UK first, if they hold the balance of power at Westminster.

ImperialBlether · 22/04/2015 15:39

But if the Tories are trying to scare people into not voting Labour, then why are they anti-SNP? That doesn't make sense!

DoraGora · 22/04/2015 15:45

Because most of their votes are going to come from the south of England, who couldn't be more alienated from Scottish nationalism if you wrapped them in tartan and rolled them in oats. Everyone knows that the election is going to be tight. So, get the Daily Hate to tell everybody that the Scots nationalists are going to be holding Red Ed by the short and curlies for the next five years, and hey presto, every gullible fool this side of the Wash is going to be rushing off full speed to vote Tory (well, so the theory goes, anyway.)

bungmean · 22/04/2015 15:54

Their primary aim is Not to break up the union. Their prismry aim is the welfare of the people of scotland. They support independence, but are clear that this isnt happening any time soon.

Typical scaremongering.

CrystalCove · 22/04/2015 15:54

What Dora said. Imperial I think you may be in for a bit of a shock regarding the number of SNP MPs after the election, that is all.

ImperialBlether · 22/04/2015 15:55

But that doesn't make any sense!

Samcro · 22/04/2015 15:55

sonds like a joke to me.

CrystalCove · 22/04/2015 15:57

Yes it does - the Tories want everyone to vote for them and be elected with an overall majority - if people believe Labour will need the SNP to be in Government they are hoping more people will just vote Tory in the first place.

Samcro · 22/04/2015 15:58

the good thing is most sensible people just want the tories out . so will ignore this anyway
