...to Andy's wedding?! I've seen this a few times now from DMs/DMILs - what are they thinking?? Shock

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 12/04/2015 09:41

I thought they all looked lovely and happy

dietcokeandwine · 12/04/2015 09:42

They both looked gorgeous. It looked like a fabulous, happy family wedding. And lovely that they didn't sell out to a magazine but opted for a much more relaxed and inclusive approach. Loved all the pics of them coming out of the church.

I had also never realised what a beautiful place Dunblane is.

Joan0fArk · 12/04/2015 09:42

I like it, but the shade was inviting criticism.

Mrsjayy · 12/04/2015 09:43

I thought she looked great but that was a HAT and a half was huge.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 12/04/2015 09:48

"inviting criticism"
Only from those who have nothing better to do than criticise.
Jeez.
It was their wedding, they picked dresses, hats, suits, flowers etc like millions of other people do that they liked. But no because they are "celebrities" that's not ok, people bitch and criticise. Bet if any of you saw my wedding photos there are bits of it you woukd hate but you know personal choice and all that.
FFS with the need to slag off people all the time.

Greenrememberedhills · 12/04/2015 10:03

I thought it was inappropriate too. It doesn't matter how nice she looked, everyone knows you don't compete with the bride. And most especially if you are the MIL or mother.

Sparklingbrook · 12/04/2015 10:05

I don't understand the 'competing with the bride' notion. it's bonkers. Just by wearing a particular colour? nope, don't get it.

Silvercatowner · 12/04/2015 10:07

I find it scary and worrying the number of social 'conventions' that have completely passed me by and that are - to me - completely incomprehensible (and plain daft). My friends and family must be really sweet in not commenting on my fashion/manners faux pas.

Mrsjayy · 12/04/2015 10:09

It was a white coat how many 20 something brides do you see wearing white coats Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 12/04/2015 10:11

I must go in the loft later and get my wedding album from 1997 down. I need to check if anyone was upstaging me. I will be furious and get on the phone to them if there is.

ChameleonCircuit · 12/04/2015 10:12

I hadn't seen the dress before reading this, but I dont think Judy looks at all bridal. The bridesmaids' dresses are the exact shade of pink of an antibiotic syrup I used to be given as a child - it invariably made me throw up, so that put me off them, but obviously Kim and her friends loved them so who cares what I think!? Grin

Behooven · 12/04/2015 10:13

Make sure you come on and start a bitchy thread about it sparkling

SirChenjin · 12/04/2015 10:13

They all looked gorgeous and so incredibly happy (and how refreshing to see a bride not wearing a ubiquitous, boring, strapless number).

MissyMistress402 · 12/04/2015 10:13

That hat is horrific.

Sparklingbrook · 12/04/2015 10:14

Too right I will Be, once I have calmed down.

Mrsjayy · 12/04/2015 10:14

I think kim was channeling her inner flamingo with the bridesmaids dresses

Sparklingbrook · 12/04/2015 10:15

The commentator woman on Sky News said the bridesmaids colour was 'on trend'.

ssd · 12/04/2015 10:15

me too sb

imagine, we could have been holding a grudge all these years and didnt even realise!!

Sparklingbrook · 12/04/2015 10:17

I know ssd. All these years when I could have been furious-wasted! Sad

Christinayangstwistedsister · 12/04/2015 10:17

Quick go and get the album out and have a look

gonetrekking · 12/04/2015 10:17

I think all the blokes looked fab!

Mrsjayy · 12/04/2015 10:17

I was at a wedding where mum of bride wore the biggest hat ive ever seen it blocked out the sun the mum of groom had a big hat i think M O B had seen it and thought im going to need a bigger hat Grin

Mrsjayy · 12/04/2015 10:19

Yaay for flamingos being on trend

SirChenjin · 12/04/2015 10:19

Why don't we all post our wedding photos on here to give the cats of Mumsnet a happy few hours picking apart the outfits, hairstyles and makeup Hmm

Christinayangstwistedsister · 12/04/2015 10:20

Mrsjayy
