...to Andy's wedding?! I've seen this a few times now from DMs/DMILs - what are they thinking?? Shock

Maybe I'm over sensitive to this as my mum wore a long ivory coat to my wedding too and I was a bit "oh" about it. She looked fab and I didn't say anything as coat was paid for and tailored before I knew but I did think we looked ever so slightly strange standing next to each other in the family photos Grin But seems to be getting more common and ok now!

I think it looks lovely.
Not bridal but I would maybe have chosen a more silver colour.

(Bitter as own MIL wore a white long dress to our wedding with a kind of scarf effort worn around her neck and down her back. Like a veil. Fucking nut job.)

fatlazymummy · 11/04/2015 23:27

I think her outfit was fine.
In any case, aren't the mothers considered part of the wedding 'party ' at these big traditional type weddings? If so I would guess her outfit was coordinated on purpose.
I've just got to comment, I thought the bride and groom looked really happy together. Congratulations to them.

Sixweekstowait · 11/04/2015 23:34

I thought everyone looked great and happy and how fantastic that it wasn't all hidden because they'd sold it all to Hello

Kampeki · 11/04/2015 23:36

Judy Murray is now a MiL. Obviously she must be wrong! Wink

Spotifymuse · 11/04/2015 23:40

My MIL wore white.
With a white hat that had a white veil.
'WINS MIL TOP TRUMPS' Grin

Minerves · 11/04/2015 23:43

Her dress isn't even white or her hat, totally appropriate AFAIC

Joyfulldeathsquad · 11/04/2015 23:46

The mirrors head line says 'judy Murray steals the show'

I bet she loves that.

But hey! She is way more famous than the bride so why not eh?

TurquoiseDress · 11/04/2015 23:46

Oh come on- I thought Judy looked great!

Her dress actually looked to be beige/taupe coloured- her coat was white but she wasn't actually wearing all white!

On the other hand I wasn't too sure about Kim's dress- maybe it was just the photo angles but it looked really puffy and the bust bit looked like it didn't have much structure.

Loved the sleeves & back detail- gorgeous. She looked so happy!
In fact, looked like almost everyone had lovely genuinely warm smiles on their faces.

TurquoiseDress · 11/04/2015 23:48

Also, earlier today I was wondering if we would even see any pics, with everything shrouded in secrecy and mobile phones/cameras being banned.

Love the fact they didn't sell out to Hello magazine or somethjng.
I love this couple even more!

RebootYourEngine · 11/04/2015 23:50

I doubt any of them care. They all look so happy. Isnt that the most important thing.

grovel · 11/04/2015 23:57

Judy looked fine. How horrible some people are on here. The bride stole the show.

Bair · 12/04/2015 00:01

I love how a woman wears white and it's shocking, but the men can turn up in identical kilts and suits for the wedding and it's fine. Tradition's a funny old thing.

Kampeki · 12/04/2015 00:05

I thought Kim looked beautiful, and Judy looked great too. And they all looked really happy. :)

AmIthatHot · 12/04/2015 01:37

She wasn't wearing all white, she didn't look bridal.

FFS, it was a wonderful occasion and the photographed happiness was infectious.

Some people never pass up a chance to have a go at Judy.

And yes, I guess a few willows have been stripped and the night finished off with Runrig's loch lomond

reni1 · 12/04/2015 01:42

Never got the don't wear white thing, I have always found it abundantly clear which one's the bride at weddings.

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 12/04/2015 01:51

I think mum Murray looked fine. That shade of pink on the bridesmaids though..

Bambambini · 12/04/2015 02:19

Judy looked lovely and not bridal at all. But, then I wore a long cream coat/cardy and a cream hat at a wedding and didn't realise it wasn't the done thing so what do i know? At a recent wedding, many of the younger guests were wearing white or cream cocktail dresses - seems they didn't get the memo either. Maybe it's just a mumsnet thing.

TidyDancer · 12/04/2015 02:46

I thought Judy looked very beautiful (as did Kim!).

Ejzuudjej · 12/04/2015 03:24

I agree with you OP.

NotLoveActually · 12/04/2015 03:49

I'm pretty sure no one mixed up Judy with the bride Hmm

westcoastnortherneragain · 12/04/2015 03:54

She looked lovely! It was white and gold, I honestly think the whole not wearing any form of white to a wedding is a bit old fashioned.

DiDiddlyIDi · 12/04/2015 04:09

Whenever I spot anyone in all white at a wedding I scowled at them and berate them under my breath. But I saw Judy's outfit and thought you look great, didn't think she was in the wrong at all, probably as it was well toned with the gold/beige
Bit disappointed in Kim's dress bits it's her day not mine. Hair looked fab as expected.

ajandjjmum · 12/04/2015 04:16

I thought Judy looked lovely, and Kim looked so happy.....albeit rather busty!

gonegrey56 · 12/04/2015 07:12

Judy looked incredible..my fashionista dd said to me "Mum, that's what you have got to try to live up to when MY day comes..." (meant kindly, she too thought Judy looked amazing!)

And the bride's smile was so beautiful....
