Tried to take out my Coil!

whatswrongnow · 28/03/2015 20:27

So ive a mirena coil in and we have been taking about having another child. I had a look on the internet today and lots of women seem to have just pulled their own out. I decided to give it a try. Not so good tried twice and now it feels like a tampon is in the wrong place and there was some ,tiny bit of blood. any advice would be welcome or anyone who has done it, thanks.

Well this wasn't your finest moment. You need a medical professional to remove it, to provent damaging yourself.

JanineStHubbins · 28/03/2015 20:29

Jeepers Shock

Tubbytimmy · 28/03/2015 20:30

Ouch Shock

ExitStageLeft · 28/03/2015 20:31

Why the fuck would you have done that?! Confused

Hobby2014 · 28/03/2015 20:31

No advice but Shock what were you thinking.
I would worry about where it was now, what its damaging etc. Sad

QueenInTheNorth · 28/03/2015 20:32

You tried to pull something thats actually IN your uterus out yourself? I'd be getting yourself to the doctors as soon as possible, but if you get any strong pain or something feels wrong, phone 111 and try get yourself seen to by an out of hours doctor.

BayMax · 28/03/2015 20:33

You tried to...to...pull it out?? Shock

BlueCheeseandChocolate · 28/03/2015 20:33

Shock. why, why, why would you do this? The internet is not a good place for this kind anecdotal advice!

Leave well alone before you do yourself further damage and go see your doctor.

26Point2Miles · 28/03/2015 20:33

Of all the stupid things I exseen on MN this has to be the worst!

ShootPeppaPig · 28/03/2015 20:34

Wowee

Pls get yourself to A&E

If you want to TTC, damaging that part of you is seriously not advisable!!!

Welshmaenad · 28/03/2015 20:34

I took mine out.

It doesn't sound like its gone so well for you. I'd recommend a doctor, maybe minors tomorrow, to see if someone can remove it?

BlueCheeseandChocolate · 28/03/2015 20:34

Exit you said what we were all thinking...

MrsRaegan · 28/03/2015 20:35

Wtf? Shock Doctors ASAP.

southeastastra · 28/03/2015 20:35

oh blimey don't try that! when i got my coil removed it hurt a bit and it definitely wouldn't be something an amateur should do.

Welshmaenad · 28/03/2015 20:35

Mine was a copper coil. i don't know why I feel the need to clarify that.

TwinkieTwinkle · 28/03/2015 20:35

Contact nhs24 asap. My sister has problems with her mirena, she's never attempted to remove it herself, but she has had problems with it shifting and they always get her in ASAP to fix it. Don't take a risk, especially if there is bleeding.

BinarySolo · 28/03/2015 20:35

No no no! Get thee to a Dr! I'm sure you could do yourself a mischief so leave it alone now and get yourself an emergency appointment on Monday.

Any unusual pain or if there's a lot of bleeding before then get to a Dr immediately. You've probably got away with it but better safe than sorry.

Mabelface · 28/03/2015 20:35

You're a bloody fool! You need to go to A & E before you cause yourself some real damage.

seaoflove · 28/03/2015 20:36

Aaaaaargh!

You tried to do it yourself? Christ almighty. You need to get yourself seen ASAP. Do you have a walk in centre near you?

Fluffyears · 28/03/2015 20:36

I'd call nhs24 and get yourself booked into OOH. Are you crazy? There is av reason it is put in place and removed by someone with medical training. You need to get checked out as you might have torn/damaged something. What were you thinking?

Athyrium · 28/03/2015 20:37

I got mine out no prob. Bad luck! Doc will sort it.

shouldnthavesaid · 28/03/2015 20:37

Go to a doctor tonigh. Objects retained in the cervix can cause cervical shock (vasovagal response) - not something you want to chance.

MrsTedCrilly · 28/03/2015 20:37

I don't blame you for trying, I wish we could do our own smear tests too so less interfering from others. But get yourself checked in case Smile

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 28/03/2015 20:38

Fuck me
Call 111 for advice now please!
