Eg the box tonight that's promoting the Nick Clegg chat or something similar.

It drives me insane and when they repeatedly pop up on my phone as it means I can't see half the screen. I'm forever trying, usually unsuccessfully, to click the tiny little cross to get rid of them and then lo, a few min's later, another one pops up. I end up leaving the site as can't be bothered. It's also happening on the laptop, although doesn't obscure as much of the screen.

Please get them under control MN - if I cross it once I really don't want to see it again!! I thank you...

And I don't bother reading them either. I just try to get them out of the way so I can carry on reading whatever I've started.

I also find it incredibly irritating that if I just run my cursor past one of those headings at the top of the page a massive box instantly drops down and obscures what I want to read. Most of the pictures are really irritating as well, especially the pregnant woman.

Another purple box hater here, especially on my phone. Less annoying on desktop but still annoying.

After I somehow managed to get rid of it yesterday, the purple box is back... and however much I enlarge my screen so I can accurately stab the tiny x, nothing happens. It just will not go.

1. If I said no....(clicked cross) .I meant no...not ask me again in a minute....if you don't I understand that concept mumsnet shame on you

2 the subjects...why harass us for questions...he's a politician...he's going to do what the last one, did.....only answer a tiny few ones he considers show him on a good light...how many peoples time are you wasting promotingvthat they should do this. ? 3 it shows no consideration for mumsnetters using phones tablets as it clearly diminishes our ability to use and enjoy the site (and you have had feedback on this before....)

Agreed, bloody annoying. When on the iPad, instead of hitting the X to get rid of it, it always opens it!! grrrr
