To go out tomorrow and buy a slanket?

I mean, what are the criteria for slanket buying?

Do you have to be over 50? - check

Prone to feeling chilly? - check

Not too proud about what you look like? - check (in the privacy of my own home obviously. I wouldn't go out in it...

Would you buy a slanket?

What about one of those head-torchy-magnifying things for reading when your sight gets a bit crap?

GoofyIsACow · 06/02/2015 20:49

I am 33 21

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 06/02/2015 20:49

I would definitely invest

HeyMicky · 06/02/2015 20:49

I want one for work. 26 weeks pregnant and the office is freezing

FallenAngel22 · 06/02/2015 20:49

Well I'm 35 and it's been my best friend this winter! Love it, so warm and cosy. Being cold is not glam IMO!

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 06/02/2015 20:49

I'm already considering one of the turn table things to help you get out of the car. I'm 31.

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 20:50

Does it gape at the back Goofy?

I couldnt be doing with back-gaping.

Or is it wrap-around?

Have you not got a dressing gown you could just wear back to front?

dougierose · 06/02/2015 20:50

What.... in God's name.... is a slanket?

AlistairSim · 06/02/2015 20:51

I gave mine to the puppy, it just wasn't snuggly enough.

I do have my eye on a fluffy electric blanket thing though.

MrsTerryPratchett · 06/02/2015 20:51

I have a couple but they are both horrible nylon and make me carry about 10,000 volts Sad. I got mine in my 30s and am fabulous if that helps.

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 20:51

Ooh. A car-getter-outer swingy thing you say?

Hmm

Don't you just love a catalogue?

All those things!

I am 39.

I was a proud slanket wearer until autumn 2014 when I was introduced to the Aldi Heated Blanket.

[the poor neglected guilty slanket face]

WiseKneeHair · 06/02/2015 20:52

Father Christmas brought them for the DSs last year. They are 13, 10 and 6. The older two have said they were the best presents they got Grin

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 20:53

dougierose - Google is your friend you know!

Unless you have a medical issue. Then it isn't your friend. Oh no.

SingySongy · 06/02/2015 20:53

We had one, but it made us go a bit staticy.
There's a gap in the market for a posh version made of natural fluffy stuff I reckon.

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 20:53

Never by nylon garments.

It doesn't end well.

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 20:54

Never buy!

My dp (now dh) bought me a slanket 5 years ago. I was 27. Its still the best gift he ever got me. Used often and i love it. Would quite lije a new one but it may not be as snuggly

HootsMon · 06/02/2015 20:56

I have one of these. In fact I'm using it right now.

To go out tomorrow and buy a slanket?
MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 06/02/2015 20:56

I don't have a slanket, but I do have a GORGEOUS knitted blanket my friend knitted for us me for Christmas. It's actually a late wedding pressie, but no way is it going on the bed/am I sharing with DH, it's my settee 'blankie'! Grin.

Luxury slankets. Cashmere slankets. With a faux fur trim.

wowfudge · 06/02/2015 20:57

Hoots - what happens if you have to move quickly?

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 20:57
