To go out tomorrow and buy a slanket?

I mean, what are the criteria for slanket buying?

Do you have to be over 50? - check

Prone to feeling chilly? - check

Not too proud about what you look like? - check (in the privacy of my own home obviously. I wouldn't go out in it...

Would you buy a slanket?

What about one of those head-torchy-magnifying things for reading when your sight gets a bit crap?

So bleary eyed.

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 21:36

Does anyone own a negligee?

And if you do; how does it differ from a dressing gown, exactly?

Salmo You're taking the biscuit a bit now, aren't you! Biscuit

I'd love a negligee and some fluffy mules.

GoofyIsACow · 06/02/2015 21:57

Kitten heeled fluffy mule slippers...
Salmo are you my MIL

It doesn't gape at the back once you get settled, you need a corner sofa tbh!

Admittedly it does cause a little static, i am sort of talking myself out of my slanket you know, although mine is a snuggie cheap shit b&m bargains version

Janethegirl · 06/02/2015 21:58

First slanket in our house came via dd and she was around 23, so it's not only for older people Grin

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 22:08

I love the word "negligee"

They are floaty, chiffony things aren't they?

dougierose · 06/02/2015 22:09

Yes. Say it in a Miranda Hart way.

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 22:10

I don't think I'm your MIL Goofy.

Are you a male?

I only have a son-in-law.

I await future DIL with bated breath.

Mwahahahahahaha

That poor dog. Someone should be reported for that. Dogs in slankets are quite acceptable however.

Negligees always remind me of the Fawlty Towers episode when Sybil is in hospital and has a marvellous collection of 'bed jackets' in frilly nylon. Special.

Ponyphysio · 06/02/2015 22:13

Yes OP, YABU. I have one just about to go to the charity shop. PM me and I'll post it to you

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 22:14

Ferrets in tuxedos are a right good laugh...

If I could remember how to link I would.

I don't want your slanket Pony.

I want a nice shiny, staticky new one.

Thanks anyway.

Ponyphysio · 06/02/2015 22:19

No worries, I'll take my brand new, still in the packaging, unwanted gift to the charity shop as planned.

dougierose · 06/02/2015 22:20

I did wonder, salmo - I got a load of images for hineys lineys.

I have a brown one which I find is perfect for reading in my sleeping bag when camping without my arms getting cold.

DS2 likes to wear it as a robe so the top piece falls over his head and pretend he is a Jedi master!

WellyMummy · 06/02/2015 22:42

Onesies, sometimes worn two at a time!! New velvet slippers and an electric faux fur throw both bought in the last few weeks. Onesies and throw definitely not glamorous, but it's too cold in my house to argue!
Having used the throw just a couple of times the dogs now recognise it and barge each other out of the way in the race to get on my lap!!

Salmotrutta · 07/02/2015 00:52

Dogs?

Really?

How... "Annabel fetch the shotgun"

If you have pets, their fur sticks to the fleece slankets.
The 'plush' pile slankets don't attract pet-hair, mine has a cosy pocket for feet as well as a front pocket for TV remote etc.
They are designed to pop on when you are already sitting down so you can snuggle into them, but not designed for walking around in.
