I mean, what are the criteria for slanket buying?

Do you have to be over 50? - check

Prone to feeling chilly? - check

Not too proud about what you look like? - check (in the privacy of my own home obviously. I wouldn't go out in it...

Would you buy a slanket?

What about one of those head-torchy-magnifying things for reading when your sight gets a bit crap?

Slankets were not designed for tall, broad people

I'll stick to my blanket ta

Never buy nylon garments?

You'll save a fortune on the 5th of November doing star jumps (wearing said nylon garments) instead of buying fireworks..

LaminatedFrondyPig · 06/02/2015 20:59

My slanket has a remote control pouch. Or a penis warmer, depending on which way round you wear it.

HootsMon · 06/02/2015 21:00

Hoots - what happens if you have to move quickly?

I've never moved quickly and I don't intend to start now! Grin

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 21:00

I like purple.

I have started to eye up sheepskin slippers to replace my glamorous kitten heeled mules trimmed with feathers

Wearing one right now. It's a bit staticy, but not too bad. I want a heated one though, and a heated blanket for my bed. I'm only 30.

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 21:02

A remote control puch??

Awesome!

No. Instead if I have a selection of naice throws - velvet, fleecy, , chenille, cotton etc which I can choose between depending on what I feel like at the time :)

VikingLady · 06/02/2015 21:02

Pil bought me three over the last few years, no idea why. Nasty nylony things, full of static and sweatiness. Yuck.

But very good for taking apart to line curtains!

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 21:03

Why are they all static?

Don't they do them in wool or something non-staticky?

salmo Thank you. Now I know. And my eyes can never unsee that man in the tarten slanket.

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 21:05

pouch

Not "puch"

There is no such thing as a "puch"

I've given up my slanket for a furry throw.

I liked to walk about it my slanket though, but it was a bit of a trip hazard.

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 21:05

What man in a Tartan slanket?

Throws are all well and good, but nothing frees the arms up for reading, drinking a glass of wine or reaching into a bag of maltesers (my perfect evening right there) like a slanket.

cerealqueen · 06/02/2015 21:07

I have a heated slanket. best present ever!

chipsandpeas · 06/02/2015 21:07

i have one, i wear it like i would a bathrobe.....when drunk i walk around my house pretending im a queen wearing robes ;)

flumpysocks · 06/02/2015 21:08

I'm mid thirties. I adore my Slanket! I bought my mum a cheaper non-Slanket branded one and it's awful for static, but my branded one is really heavy and thick and doesn't give me any static issues.

That said, I am very intrigued by the heated throws, and thinking I am going to investigate further. I do love my electric blanket on my bed.

MiladyBeaWinter · 06/02/2015 21:09

I have a slanket. My sister bought me it after I was snarky about hers. It's amazing, I'm a convert.

It also has other benefits, it can fit two DC and myself as a blanket when snuggling to watch DVDs, and I can wear it back to front and be a Jedi when we play Star Wars.

What's not to love? Warm AND fun.

dougierose · 06/02/2015 21:09

salmo Have you found him?

Salmotrutta · 06/02/2015 21:10
