help for strikethrough please

just to say, mumsnet has been an amazing help for me for so long, and through the many dilemmas of my life.

just wondering if someone who has the time or inclination can help.

I have been trying to do the "strikethrough" on my messages for ages.
I have looked online, but still can't grasp the best way to achieve it.

can anyone help?

So I’ve tried with and without space and neither worked. Booo

On iPad go to general > keyboard and turn off smart punctuation

doesn't work for me wherespecially the italics button?

oh it does whoop whoop doesn't show when typing though. Thanks mumsnet have been wondering for ages how to do this.
