help for strikethrough please

just to say, mumsnet has been an amazing help for me for so long, and through the many dilemmas of my life.

just wondering if someone who has the time or inclination can help.

I have been trying to do the "strikethrough" on my messages for ages.
I have looked online, but still can't grasp the best way to achieve it.

can anyone help?

I must be about the only person who doesn't think the strike through is witty or funny.

mortil, I've seen people post . to, I assume, place mark, so I suppose a blank post would do the same. I wouldn't, personally; I'd make a post or use the watch function, but I wanted to know how to, just out of curiosity.

had such a laugh re strikethrough.

the thing is, I tried it this on an email this morning, and haha, it didn't work!
luckily I sent the test email to myself, so no one thought I was crazy.

so, any idea how to strikethrough, when not "posting" ?

I love the strike through and often find I wish I could use it elsewhere. Then I found this
I don't use FB but it works in e mails and other on line texts.
