To ask you what you know about Forever Living?

So a friend has started selling Forever Living, she seems to be doing well so far which is great for her but it seems too good to be true, can I ask your experiences with the company, if any? She's a good friend so I'm hoping it works for her, so far the only draw back i can see is a lot of advertising to friends (via fb), which long term probably would annoy folk.

Also the products, anyone tried the weight loss stuff? She has lost loads so if its not just water that will all go back on then I jump on the bandwagon with her :D

One of my friends has started selling it as well. Seems ok but the advertising is a bit much.

It's 'multi-level selling' a pyramid scheme. Of course she says she's doing well. She needs people like you in order to make money.

A friend of mine does every one of these that comes along. Frankly, her friends are sick and tired of being used as a source of income for her.

They 'do well' within the company by recruiting other sales people. Not by selling the product itself. The few people on my Facebook who sell it are always saying 'I need another team member for December' etc. that's where it comes from. It's pyramid selling at its most basic form.

As for the product isn't it aloe based? Just buy an aloe plant if you want to see the results youd get...

There have been a few threads recently questioning the validity of Forever Living from posters whose mates have started selling the stuff.

Are the company on a pre Christmas push recruitment?

Even has some people who work for FL defending it/their role.

HermoneWeasley, it's only been a few weeks and her advertising sounds like she has been brainwashed, although she did say though at the beginning they were a bit like that so I am hoping she sees through it.

She has offered me products at cost as we are close so I don't think she is recommending the products to make money from me personally.

I'm really just concerned because of the saying that if something seems too good to be true then it usually is plus the level of advertising, I wouldn't like to see her piss people off either, I can see it getting potentially awkward down the line

If she's offering you stuff at cost, make sure you get the Aloe Propolis cream - it's awesome!

I wouldn't touch it from business pov tbh. My SIL does it as a sideline & is very unpushy, but it is far from her only source of income.

It's not a scam or a pyramid scheme and those saying so have clearly not been involved.

The stuff they sell is great but massively overpriced (but then I'm a cheapskate and expect to pay primark prices everywhere). I wouldn't go into it as a business and have actively decided not to because of peoples responses to it and the fact that so many people are at it, I think it'll die a death soon enough. Not saying it won't be long term for some, they've been going 40 years and I'm sure they'll go 40 more but I mean the current hype.

My friend has done it since August. She is going to Singapore in 2015 for free. She also has an Audi a5 paid for and earns what I earn a month from approx ten hours a week work.

It works for her and I have tried the clean 9 (lost 11lbs and kept it off) and the toothpaste (definitely made my teeth whiter but I don't think it was effective on plaque.)

It is like a cult tho. All the people I know that do it harp on about it constantly.

if you can sell this snake oil and sleep at night, I'd take a hard look in the mirror. 'detox' and 'cleansing' are babble.

you will lose weight if you eat nothing but their expensive sugary rubbish in the approved quantities. You'll pork up again as soon as you stop. That's why diet products make money!

even the doctor who promotes the aloe vera says there is as yet no quantifiable evidence for its properties.

I know whatever they sell, you can buy it much cheaper on ebay. Detoxing kit is £250 from reps, but £180 on ebay!

the girls at work who are on it really do look and feel better for it.

i fancy a cleanse when i have spare money. everyone who has used it has continued losing as iy gave them a good kick start.

the one selling it is only making around £200 a month but it's been a lifestyle change.

i think a few of the products seem like a good buy but the mark ups are crazy. get it cost if you can and give it a bash

If it's 250 it's gone up hugely. I know they changed it recently but previously it was 120/130.

They're not actually allowed to sell it on eBay. Or call it a detox.

I have one such friend advertising it on FB - I knew from the start that it was a pyramid scheme (which it is no matter how they dress it up!) but it was when she wrote, in all seriousness, some guff along the lines of "what makes us fat is the toxins in our bodies" and then a whole bunch of 'huns' came along saying 'amazeballs! I never knew that! Inbox me your price list hun' - THAT was when I knew she'd lost whatever reasoning capacity she might once have had.
By the way - any fool can lose 11lb in a week by not eating! Don't need a bunch of aloe shite to achieve that!

I did eat. Healthy food. All in all your calorie intake is similar to mfp but I've never lost 11lbs in 9 days on that.

A colleague at work talked about this to me last week for 10 mins. His wife has quit her permanent job of 11 years standing to do forever living full time mind boggles

I hide anyone from my timeline that starts promoting Forever Living, or sometimes they hide their updates from me first. They tend not to like it when I point out that I know these amazing things that are fabulous for natural detoxing and even better they're completely free! They're called skin, liver, intestines, lungs and kidneys.

Getting a bit suspicious about all these threads innocently questioning what Forever Living is.

Am hiding them, but first need to say:

Forever Living sounds like an embalming fluid.
