to be vaguely flattered by this...?

So, having a coil fitted in a few weeks. Went to the surgery today to have the swabs taken.

There I am, in the glamourous smear test position, when the nurse pipes up 'ah yes, a nice central cervix'.

What?! So this is a good thing? Must remember to update my LinkedIn profile...
I was, naturally, flattered by this. I almost thanked her and blushed.

Anyone else got a gynaecological humble brag...?

I have very symmetrical labia.

My cervix is very tucked away though, well done you Wink

Wishtoremainunknown · 17/11/2014 21:31

I was told I have a tiny cervix - is this good ?

suedehead · 17/11/2014 21:31

Ooh, MaidOf, impressive!

While being stitched up after labour the doctor called over the student midwife to have a look as I have "a perfectly textbook anatomy". My reply? "Well, it's not often I get a compliment like that, thanks!"

NotADaffodil · 17/11/2014 21:35

Grin definitely one for LinkedIn!

The last time I had a smear the nurse told me I had a naughty cervix hiding away in the corner Blush

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 17/11/2014 21:36

I was flattered by the surgeon who admired my lovely big placenta. "Look! It's enormous! Would you like to see? It's very impressive."

Erm no thank you.

suedehead · 17/11/2014 21:36

Textbook. Wow. I feel underwhelmed by my cervix complement now! Well done Ma and Pa DorothyBastard, eh?

I got told I had a lovely womb at my first scan.

My friend got told at her smear that she was as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside....that always make a me feel a bit Shock

bodhranbae · 17/11/2014 21:40

A smear nurse once asked me if I had always had a "shy cervix".

FoxgloveFairy · 17/11/2014 21:41

Hummph! Mine's high and hard to get to!

teachermummy2b · 17/11/2014 21:42

At an early re-assurance scan the sonographer exclaimed that I'd got the longest uterus she'd ever seen Hmm Does this mean I will have a long (tall?) Baby?!

WalkingInMemphis · 17/11/2014 21:42

This made me chuckle.

When I go for a smear it's very painful, difficult and it takes ages. Last time the nurse was in nearly up to her elbow, huffing and panting and cursing because my cervix is apparently completely twisted and hidden, up round the back and side, somewhere it really shouldn't be, or some such.

The first time I had one and the nurse was clearly having trouble she told me not to worry, I just had a bit of an 'awkward' cervix. I felt completely personally responsible and spent about half an hour apologising while she tried to locate it.

marsybum · 17/11/2014 21:43

I was once told I had an "easy to find" cervix - I assume that meant something along the lines of the proverbial wizards sleeve Confused

UriGeller · 17/11/2014 21:44

Meh. Midwife at ds2's complicated birth told me that a very eminent plastic surgeon was in the building and it would be HE who stitched me back together (3rd degree tear), that I was a "very lucky girl" and I'd have the "neatest bottom parts" when he'd finished.

suedehead · 17/11/2014 21:45

Haha! How very British, Walking!

confuddledDOTcom · 17/11/2014 21:47

I always have complaints that I'm a "tall" lady, I've started warning them and they get the bigger speculum out now which isn't such a problem.

When I was at the sexual health clinic for my first set of tests following rape the doctor said I was a "frilly" lady. I have no idea what that means and Mum (my handholder) has tried to tell me a few times but I'm still confused. I was a little annoyed that I didn't feel it was the right time to be making comments on my bits.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 17/11/2014 21:48

I have a naughty tilty cervix but apparently after a pint of water I give a lovely ultrasound.

Idontseeanysontarans · 17/11/2014 21:48

My cervix is tilted but very neat apparently. Why thank you...
Oh and I have the perfect body shape for giving birth. I didn't pursue that one any further as I can only think that it means I have wide hips and by default a wide arse to match.

stareatthetvscreen · 17/11/2014 21:49

my gp said the same op and called a student over to have a look

WaitingForMe · 17/11/2014 21:51

I've been told I have a lovely cervix by a nurse during a smear. I just blushed and said thank you but was totally bewildered. Thanks to this thread I now know it means it's easy to see (you know with a fuckton of gadgets).

Cocolepew · 17/11/2014 21:51

A young gynae dr said, in awe, that I have the largest womb he had ever seen.
I thanked him Hmm, I was a bit proud for some bizarre reason Blush

RumAppleGinger · 17/11/2014 21:53

I needed a couple of stitches after having DS. Lying legs akimbo still on the gas and air the midwife stitching me calls over a colleague, points down at my fanny/her work and declares "There! Isn't that Braw!" I did inform her that I would be relaying the story that a HCP had stated my vagina was brilliant. Grin

Idontseeanysontarans · 17/11/2014 21:54

I've told this on here before but many years ago I had a colposcopy with the gynaecologist and a group of med students. I/we essentially got a guided tour of my cervix as she used a little camera to put my insides on a screen and while really fascinating it didn't look particularly neat.

AlpacaYourThings · 17/11/2014 21:56

I was at the STI clinic after I was raped and the nurse said I had an 'amazing pelvic floor'.

I didn't/don't know what she meant by it.

ghostyslovesheep · 17/11/2014 21:57

they lie though - my last smear she said 'oh that looks like a nice healthy cervix' ...it wasn't
