While I don't necessarily agree that fontella's posts are hoaching with it, I support chair's assertion that bigotry has been present on these threads and in the media.
As I said last night, it's one of the things that has upset me most through the Indy Ref debate. I'm a No now but have been a Yes.
You don't have to be stupid to vote Yes just as you don't have to be stupid to vote No.
Just as idiots on the Yes side will blame everything on England, kick in 'No thanks' signs and wrongly bring up colonialist practices, idiots on the No side will paint Yessers as led by emotion, heedrum hodrum nationalists without a Higher between 100 of them.
And this has extended, in many cases to Scots in general: the notion that, as a people we're a bit of a joke at best and intolerant parochialists at worst.
I respect the sensible, thoughtful posts from both sides on these threads. I've never considered myself as patriotic (Scottish, British, whatever) but the other stuff hurts and I don't think my fellow Scots deserve it.
