Had some interesting discussions last night when I was at the velodrome (ds at 2 hour coaching session - so the parents have time to do a lot of yabbing!
)
A couple of the guys (one accountant, one businessman, medium sized enterprise) surprised me by volunteering that they were both Yes. The businessman made the comment that he thought that there were lots of closet YES voters
- the opposite of what has been implied on these threads
.
His prediction was 60/40 Yes. The other guy's was 51/49.
What's fascinating is how many people are discussing it and staying friends
. A few of the other parents (who I already knew were Yes voters) said they're now bored by the whole thing and just want to vote. Their view was that people have already made up their minds and there isn't any point in further attempts to persuade either way - again, going by these threads (and others on MN) - not something I'm sure I agree with.
