I'm the type who'd bail out in a civil war!

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 09/09/2014 16:45

Why are we so scared of oil revenue? It's astounding. We're arguing over being really rich or obscenely rich!

Criseyde · 09/09/2014 16:46

"If that would have been your preferred option you will still get it by voting no. No way can WM go back on that promise now.

1979?

chocoluvva · 09/09/2014 16:46

Indeed lem73

I'm sure they'd quickly let us back in - after all we'd have demonstrated that we love to work as a team. Grin

We'd be no bother - not trying to get as much as we possibly can for the 5.3million Scottish people while trying to hang on to the coat-tails of sterling.

WildThong · 09/09/2014 16:46

I do agree that the flag in Downing Street is a bit cringeworthy, but...

Wildthong- I get lumped in with other yes posters all the time and have been misattributed too many times to count.

I think it's inevitable on fast moving threads like these where there are lots of posters saying broadly similar things.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/09/2014 16:46

No way can WM go back on that promise now

Why not?

This isn't 1979. Different government different electorate.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 09/09/2014 16:47

Yup, that was just as cringey.

Oh wait, what?

A yes supporter not defending Salmond?

WildThong · 09/09/2014 16:48

Ok weatherall

chocoluvva · 09/09/2014 16:48

It would be scandalous.

WildThong · 09/09/2014 16:50

Didn't expect you to lovely ??

Criseyde · 09/09/2014 16:50

It was scandalous in 1979.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 09/09/2014 16:50

Of course they can go back on it, there's nothing to go back on. We have an opposition back bencher making promises.

None of it means anything. We don't have the right of recall, they aren't held accountable. Labour have nothing to lose, they've already lost a lot of the Scottish vote.

Extra powers could have been delivered through devomax. Remind me, why isn't an option?

That would have suited a lot of people but was denied. So who has forced us into the divisive yes or no vote?

chocoluvva · 09/09/2014 16:52

Who said anything about being scared of the revenue from oil?

Oh yes AS tried to claim that the no voters were trying to make out that having oil is an undesirable thing. During a debate with AD.

oddcommentator · 09/09/2014 16:52

Weatherall

You are factually wrong

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 09/09/2014 16:53

And now it's biting them in the arse. They called our bluff, thought we'd be easily pacified with a wee vote but it's backfired hugely.

Cameron is responsible for all of this.

chocoluvva · 09/09/2014 16:54

Why isn't devmax an option - because WM were arrogant.

Doesn't mean we won't still get more control. Now who's scaremongering?

oddcommentator · 09/09/2014 16:54

And my suggestion to vote no isnt to pacify the markets. It is to bring stability to the country and its economy.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 09/09/2014 16:55

Thank-you, IrnBru.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/09/2014 16:56

Doesn't mean we won't still get more control. Now who's scaremongering?

Why on earth would WM give us more control?Confused especially as we would have just voted against more control

OP posts:
oddcommentator · 09/09/2014 16:56

Who is they. The agenda and wording was all agreed on both sides. You are projecting your dislike of westminster.

chocoluvva · 09/09/2014 16:57

And once we're out of the recession and Scotland has more control over its finances with the result that the Scottish economy is doing even better, t we can have another referendum and those voters who are unwilling to risk their personal financial security at the moment will be confident in the economy of an independent Scotland and vote yes......

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 09/09/2014 16:57

Devomax was refused as an option by Cameron.

chocoluvva · 09/09/2014 16:59

We would have voted against independence in the absence of a vote for devo max.

Don't the yes voters want Scotland to have more financial control?
