So supporters of a political party are defined by the leadership?
Sorry all you Liberals out there - seems you are all pedophiles.
Oh no sorry forgive me - that would be a ridiculous assumption wouldn't it!!
People who support UKIP are not defined by the traits of the leadership - they are defined as supporting the policies.

WetAugust · 23/04/2014 17:32

...they are defined as supporting the policies.

Well, even that's not compulsory - you can support some but not all. It's not obligatory.

insomniarules · 23/04/2014 17:34

Having just read their policies on their website they are at least clear and forthright in their ideas. Not sure about developing Shale gas and getting rid of green taxes though

Chapsview · 23/04/2014 17:34

Very valid point Wet

How is the penis growing getting on Wink

WetAugust · 23/04/2014 17:36

Yes to getting rid of green taxes. They are an overhead on the poor as well as thise who can afford to pay them.

Yes to fracking (but personally I disagree with this particular policy).

Heard both of the above spoken by Paul Nuttall, their deputy Leader, in person a few weeks ago - so no dispute about those policies.

PosyFossilsShoes · 23/04/2014 17:43

And yes, they are a racist* party. Their 2014 manifesto claims that "28,000 Romanians are held for crimes in London" which is, er, complete bollocks. That sort of scaremongering is not "a debate about immigration," it's nasty prejudice with a fluffy purple border.

  • Using 'racist' in the sense that includes xenophobia and other forms of prejudice against non-British people.
AmberLeaf · 23/04/2014 17:50

UKIP attract racists, bigots and Xenophobes.

That is no accident.

They know that their rhetoric on particular issues will get certain types supporting them.

More recently, UKIP have been more careful with their words, but they are as racist as they always were.

LaurieFairyCake · 23/04/2014 17:56

They don't attract racist, thugs and scumbags because they're all Fluffy , sensitive and nice

AmberLeaf · 23/04/2014 17:58

...and they all love their Mums.

So, was Gordon Brown's British jobs for British people racist?

Or is it a selective racism charge that you only bestow on UKIP?

TillyTellTale · 23/04/2014 18:10

UKIP is a small, tiny party, with barely any councillors. So how come such a large number/significant percetage have been caught saying disgusting things? Candidates whose private manifestos support compulsory terminations for women carrying fetuses with chromosomal abnormalities, for example?

fidelineish · 23/04/2014 18:10

Grin @ Baron

Beautifully put.

BaronDent.

Your last post highlights your own racism by using a racial epithet.

I have reported it.

fidelineish · 23/04/2014 18:12

that's a bit barrel-scrapey of you isn't it Wet?

UKIP attract racists, bigots and Xenophobes.

Again absolutely no proof to back this claim up.

fidelineish · 23/04/2014 18:16

Can you not recognise parody Wet?

And yes, they are a racist* party. Their 2014 manifesto claims that "28,000 Romanians are held for crimes in London" which is, er, complete bollocks.
The Met arrested 27,727 Romanians between 2008 and 2013 so it's not exactly complete bollocks is it.

WetAugust · 23/04/2014 18:19

Nothing, I repeat, nothing excuses what Baron posted Fide. To attempt to pass it off as parody is shameful.

Cauthers - I'm out. I suggest you save your comments for people who appreciate debate and whose argument is based on name-calling.

TillyTellTale · 23/04/2014 18:19

Wet so what did you think of the joke at the UKIP dinner that characterised the Polish Olympic team as thieves? Or the one about Team Somalia?

fidelineish · 23/04/2014 18:21

Wet, DFOD. Thanks.
