Hand luggage is fine. And for your liquids, in the obligatory plastic bag.

Ryan Air let you vape - Easy Jet allegedly don't but I've managed by being very discreet.

And, just saying, I have 'heard' that ecigs don't set off the smoke detectors in plane loos.

perihelion Well done - you'll soon leave those rollies behind forever.

Perihelion · 09/02/2014 21:36

Already been sneaky vaping........no no daughter, you can sit in the front seat of the car, while I vape behind you........bonkers, as I've not even smoked in the car for years.

I'm back to work tomorrow. I may stealth vape in the office...

Allergictoironing · 10/02/2014 09:18

May I have a little pat on the back please? You may remember I just can't seem to lose those last 2 real cigs, the last one at night & the first of the morning. I've had a pretty shit morning already, yet today I've managed to NOT have the first thing real cig!

I know it's nothing compared to the people who have managed to completely give up for months, but it's a really big deal for me. This is the first time I've not felt I will always need to have a packet of cigs in the house "just in case" and am even considering giving away the remaining few I have - something that has put me in a real panic before this morning.

Ledaire · 10/02/2014 09:28

Well done Allergic Smile

The mornings are the hardest. I didn't manage to do that - my last cigarette was one of a few I had on a Saturday morning, so that's great!

I kept three packets of cigs around for the first few days and got rid of the last pack a week in. It's an amazing feeling. You're on your way to freedom! Grin

LucyLasticBand · 10/02/2014 09:48

the bus i catch has a no electronic cigarette sign.

magimedi · 10/02/2014 09:49

Brilliant, Allergic. It took me two weeks to convert to total vaping - funnilly it was a Monday when I did & I thought if I can do a Monday.........

I forgot I had kept the last of a pack of tobacco & after about a week of just vaping I found it & thought I'd try one. I have never tasted anything so rank in all my life - I was hung over the sink swilling & spitting & had to brush my teeth & eat a zillion mints to take the taste away.

Allergictoironing · 10/02/2014 11:25

Thank you ladies, it means the most from others who have been in the same situation. Never smokers just can't understand, and people who managed to give up instantaneously are if anything less understanding because they think if they managed it, it must be the same for everyone.

I know perfectly well that those last couple are very much psychological in my case, and they taste pretty rank too Shock, but for a month I've been stuck there in my mind. I think it's the "oh my gods need to top up nicotine before I go to bed" feeling, then wanting the instant nicotine hit after none for a few hours come the mornings. It's my own mind I have to beat now, and kind friends nagging is if anything counterproductive as I'm a bit of a contrary cow.

FlockOfTwats · 10/02/2014 15:19

Well done allergic. The hardest ones for ne was the one after a big meal in the evening. Big congrats :)

KatieScarlett2833 · 10/02/2014 16:01

Well done Allergic, that's amazing Grin

I survived my first day back at work, stress, stress, stress.
Did I want a cig? Not at all.
That has always been my downfall.
So happy with my lovely vape GrinGrin

magimedi · 10/02/2014 16:05

Well done, Katie.

Did you stealth vape at work?

OP posts:
KatieScarlett2833 · 10/02/2014 16:16

I did by accident Confused

Was so used to vaping whenever I wanted to, on arrival I took a few puffs before I realised what I was doing...

Allergictoironing · 10/02/2014 16:30

Oh gods Katie I've done that a few times! So used to just pulling it out of my pocket & taking a drags, did that at a neighbour's house the other day, in the shops a few times etc.

But really well done surviving that first day back at work Smile.

Perihelion · 10/02/2014 16:37

Over 24 hours and no fags. And don't want to rip anyone's head off either.
Wow!

magimedi · 10/02/2014 16:38

Brilliant, Perihelion - the other wonderful thing I found was that I didn't put on any weight!

OP posts:
NoodleOodle · 10/02/2014 16:40

I got myself a disposable at the weekend, kinda weaning on to it to see if I get on with it again.

Allergictoironing · 10/02/2014 16:59

Yay well done Perihelion. Start calculating the cost savings, they soon add up Grin.

magimedi · 10/02/2014 17:01

If it goes OK you'll soon want a refillable vaper, Noodle. I started with disposables & soon moved on.

OP posts:
Allergictoironing · 10/02/2014 17:22

Same with me Noodle. Halved my consumption (30 a day down to 20) with a cigalike, now down to 1 a day with a proper refillable tank system. Plus you get so many different scrummy flavours available for refillables Grin

Ledaire · 10/02/2014 18:45

I'm going into hospital for a biopsy on Wednesday and can't use my e-cig Sad

My lovely Dad bought me some patches and an inhalator (it is vile) so have treated myself to three new flavours from the Alchemists Cupboard. Chocolate Orange, Turkish Delight and Lemon Meringue Pie Grin

KatieScarlett2833 · 10/02/2014 19:02

Oh god, anything but an inhalator Shock

(Inhalator flashback)

Urgh, I had to have a fag to lose the choking, retchingness of that THING.

Ledaire · 10/02/2014 19:16

Beyond grim. The smell and taste

Apart from the health scare (biopsy is on vocal cords due to a hoarse voice, no other symptoms other than chain-smoking for 25 years Hmm) I started thinking, "if I were young and someone came from the future with a nicotine-deliverer which came in lovely flavours, great vapour and throat hit, I'd have bitten their hand off for one!"

And went from there. These threads have been amazing for me. Even if I do need treatment, I won't have to go through it as a smoker Smile

FlockOfTwats · 10/02/2014 19:23

Shouty indoorsmoker man on youtube was reviewing "chocolate bacon" e liquid the other day.

I think id take the inhalator over that. I wretched the whole way through the review (dp had it on)

Ledaire · 10/02/2014 19:32

Chocolate bacon? Shock

Bacon and maple syrup I could understand...
