to ask what you think about nose piercing?

Just wondering, really. I've always considered getting one done (nostril, not a septum piercing) and thought it would suit my face. But it's never seemed like the right time, and now I'm in my mid 30's.

I've been split from my ex for a few months, kind of need a pick-me-up and have come back to the idea. Would it be a really naff thing to do? Also, (stupid questions, maybe) when it heals is it uncomfortable?

There are some very nice nose piercings.
If it looks pants take it out. Easy.
It will close, mine has.
I was 18 though.

I do think it looks much better if you have a pretty nose.

I think they look great, but have a very snotty nose, so it would be gross. Go for it!

I had my nose pierced when I was 16/17. It's not uncomfortable at all, I often forgot it was even there.

Go for it. If you don't like it, or change your mind later, you can take it out and it onky leaves a teeny scar that nobody will ever notice Grin

I have quite a few piercings and a few I have now got rid of. Off them all, my nose was the least painful and the quickest healing. I love the way it looks and other than standard lobe piercings, it's my longest standing piercing.

My only suggestions would be to make certain it is done with a needle and definitely not a gun!! Also, I have a screw shaped stud (the part inside of my nose) rather than a straight one, which I find so much more comfortable.

I say get it done!! Grin

If you want one, get one! I like them, but would look awful with one, I do not have a good nose.

If you are not sure, it soulds silly but get some of those children's tiny stick on jewel things (the ones we put on our eyes when we were 7 an thought we looked the dogs bollix with) and wear it around for a few hours/days to see if you like the look.

Love them. I've always wanted mine done but been too scared. DD2 has hers done and it looks great. I'm tempted.

I think if you get it done, be mindful of the duvet/blankets in bed for the first while. I caught my stud on a blanket, woke with it half hanging out, had to persuade my mum to put it back in and then promptly vomited and fainted. That was uncomfortable.

Apart from that I've had no problems.

I had mine done when I was 18 and that was a very long time ago! I think it suits most people and as others have said you could take it out if you change your mind.
I do prefer a diamonte stud though rather than a ring.

I had mine done at 18, 7 years later it is still in but I wear a very small bioplast stud so is hardly noticeable when at work.

If you want one then just go for it!

Go for it! I sometimes think I'd like one too, but I'm not really that keen on my nose so I wouldn't want to draw any more attention to it.

I had mine done at 18. I loved it and want it done again. I let it close up when dd1 was doing the nose pulling thing that babies do. Now dd2 is past that stage I really want it done again. I'm mid 30s and a teacher btw.

I would go for a tiny stud (I think) but maybe a ring for special occasions annoying the ex husband.

Does it cost very much to do? Will it pop out when I blow my nose?

I think a tiny stud looks OK, but I couldn't personally as I am too old I can't stand the thought of what happens with snot, blowing your nose, etc.

I think it should cost about £20? Get it done by a proper piercer though, as others have said, in a tattoo studio or similar.

I had mine pierced when I was 17 along with a tattoo I regret
I had a ring then changed to a stud, I took it out few years ago and I'm left with the hole in my nose, which i don't like!
so I you do go for it make it a small stud so your not left with a hole like me

Just do it, you can always take it out! My friend has quite a big nose and was kind of like, "will it make it worse?" She got it done and decided it empthasized her nose so took it out a few days later, healed up fine, can not even tell she had it done!
