to ask what you think about nose piercing?

Just wondering, really. I've always considered getting one done (nostril, not a septum piercing) and thought it would suit my face. But it's never seemed like the right time, and now I'm in my mid 30's.

I've been split from my ex for a few months, kind of need a pick-me-up and have come back to the idea. Would it be a really naff thing to do? Also, (stupid questions, maybe) when it heals is it uncomfortable?

Do it! I think a tiny sparkly stud looks lovely on most people.

If there's one think the good Lord gave me when I started out in life it was 'enough holes'.

I'm not looking to add to the collection.

I had mine done at 18, I wore a ring instead of a stud as I was too good at losing studs if I sneezed or blew my nose (I tried!) Grin

I took it out a few months ago (age 35) for a job interview and didn't put it back in and it's healed now - my face felt a bit naked at first and I miss it sometimes!

Only on a pretty little nose!

Do it! I had mine done at uni, used to wear a ring in it but now have a stud with a jewel (not red or it will look like a spot)

Dd is currently going through a nose pulling obsession but I'm trying to ride it out; I already lost my belly button piercing when I gave birth to her and one piercing is quite enough for her to steal Grin

I have one with I tiny diamanté stud and love it. I was a bit silly and took the one they pierced it with out the day after having it done and replaced it with a tiny one with just a wire bar, I knew I only wanted a tiny one and the bar on the one the piercer put in was too thick for my liking

as you ask - I think they always look like a spot, unless it is a gold piercing on someone with dark skin.

you did ask what I thought. But it is your nose and only what you think matters.

I got mine done last summer. I love it. It cost me £20 at the local tattoo parlour, and it was pretty painless. Took about five weeks to heal.

foxoff Grin

I guess I can live with the idea of it looking like a spot to some people. I'm more worried people will think "Sad old hippie trying to be trendy".

I am in my 40s. I had my nose pierced to "celebrate" my wedding anniversary as I had split up with my husband a couple of weeks before. I was worried that it might look a bit muttony, but now it's done I'm really happy with it. It doesn't look like a spot - it looks awesome Grin

I had mine done at the age of 17. I'm going to be 40 this year and it's still going strong!! I have a ring rather than a stud and forget about it most of the time....but still love it!!

......'Tis a bit painful when the baby finds it though.........Grin

I wouldn't have it done myself, but my daughter had it done for her 16th birthday last year. I didn't want her to, she knew that, but I actually really like it now!
She wears tiny studs, some sparkly, and it looks quite attractive on her!

I have pierced ears, but that is different somehow, sort of acceptable.

I don't like other piercings though - eyebrows, lips and (ew) tongues etc.

I had mine done at 19, and then when the stud fell out at 30 and I forgot to get a new one in time, left it. I used to take it out for job interviews, until I realised that that was silly, as I'd just put it in on starting the job, and they wanted me for my skills.

Last year (35) I got it re-done as a birthday present to myself, and love it again. If you have a curly metal back rather than a stud it doesn't fall out so easily. Oddly, in my cohort of 5 of us in pretty senior roles at work, two of us have nose studs. Senior management don't think it's odd, or if they do, don't say!

I wouldn't want to emphasise my nose, it is quite noticeable enough thank you! If I had a lovely retroussé number then maybe a little diamond stud would look good...

Do you have to wear a horrible big stud for a while till it heals or can you get a tiny sparkly stud straight away?

I got mine done last year. Mind I found it rather painful, more so than my tongue piercing and tattoos!

Mine got infected though and a spot like thing grew from the hole until it nearly covered the piercing, I took it out to clean and couldn't get it back in. IIt healed up fine though and you would never know I had one.

Im thinking of getting it done again but it was so painful when healing. Sad

Why?

Do you think it makes you look more attractive?

I find it repulsive.

I've had mine 20 years and feel very odd without it.

Usually wear a ring, but have had a stud in for a couple of weeks and it's fine.

I'm 36, have no urge to take it out yet. Grin

I am thinking of getting my nose and ear done (ear bar at the top) and I am 36!

My manager at work has piercings so no worries there!

I have a nose ring and I'm in my 40's.

I am an old hippy (but I'm not trying to look trendy...)

I love nose piercings.

I had mine done, but had to wear a clear retainer stud for work. It fell out one day and the hole closed up. I haven't bothered having it redone.

Have it done. You can always let it heal over if you don't like it.

ThatBloodyWoman · 22/01/2014 20:46

I am also planning a tragus piercing and a nice shiny new tattoo soon.
