AIBU ... to STILL feel positively evangelical about electronic cigarettes? [thread 2]

magimedi · 15/11/2013 22:02

Here we go with thread two.

There is a great deal of information on Thread One about vaping :

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1865547-to-feel-positively-evangelical-about-electronic-cigarettes?pg=1

I think that many of us have been able to give up smoking thanks to e-cigs & vaping & are all feeling the positive results & want to spread the message.

Right ladies, time for some fun!

I've just had a (rather small) influx of money, which means instead of getting by with the absolute basics I can actually spend a bit of money on my vaping Grin. My excuse is that it will save me money in the long run Wink.

My priorities will be:
A new battery or two, preferably at least one blingy/shiney one
Decent (as opposed to cheapest) clearomisers
The necessary to make my own juice (VG, PG, flavour, tools etc)

My preferences are:
Stuff that's interchangeable with my existing kit (standard eGo/CE4)
Minimal faff & hassle

So - help me spend up to £100 this weekend on line (no nearby vaping shops to where I live)! Recommendations, suggestions etc please.

LedareAnsley · 31/01/2014 18:40

Missed the post by Pubes about that - sorry Blush

QueenStromba · 31/01/2014 18:59

You want an itaste MVP 2 with an iclear 30 like this - I've not bought from this shop, it was the first I found on google so have a shop around.

As for clearos, I love the iclear 16s.

www.liberty-flights.co.uk/category.asp?categoryid=13 is good for DIY stuff and they have the 25% discount code (fabfeb) that I mentioned up thread. The Flavour Art flavours are really good but steer clear of their papaya and guava flavours unless you want to feel like you're vaping perfume (my faves are cookie and fruit of the forest).

VG is just glycerine - way cheaper somewhere like Boots than from a vaping supplier. PG is cheaper on ebay if you're buying a lot of it.

LedareAnsley · 31/01/2014 19:20

Does the itaste MVP 2 let you know when the battery is running down? I got caught out today, topped up with liquid and my 1100 ran out on the way to Tesco Shock

I have three batteries (haven't yet succumbed to the ego twist) and have only just realised they are useless if my charger goes, so have ordered a new one, for seven pounds less than the Socialites shop wants.

How about a naice carry-case, Allergictoironing?

LedareAnsley · 31/01/2014 20:43

Okay, that was a crap suggestion - that's what I want Grin

Any ideas yet? I saw a good video about the kit QueenStromba mentioned.

Allergictoironing · 31/01/2014 21:08

I'm going to wait until a few more regulars on this thread chip in, then do a bit of research on the bits I fancy. I'm quite into cooking at the moment, so the blending my own juice part is the bit I'll probably get most excited about - was also into chemistry back at the dawn of time when I was in school, so the mixing stuff to alchemical formulae is quite appealing to me Grin.

LedareAnsley · 31/01/2014 21:31

Liberty Flights does look good for cooking. You could have your own recipes and I could be a customer Grin

I've been using vv ego batteries for most of my vaping time - they just give that bit of 'oomph' to your vape (very technical Grin) You just up the volts until you get a really satisfying vape.

I've recently bought an itaste mvp (best price I found here) I would say it's better than your standard vv battery, but it's a bit chunky. Fine for using at home, too big to use when driving and too big to be inconspicuous when out and about. Big positive is battery life - it's a 2600 mah battery and lasts me 3-4 days. It shows a green light, then yellow, then red to indicate battery charge, so you won't get caught out with a spent battery when you're out. It has a puff counter too which I only really bothered looking at for the first few days. You can also still use it while it is charging.

It came with an iclear 30 which I was looking forward to trying, but I'm not a fan of it. I don't like the metal mouth piece and I felt it left a metallic taste in my mouth - could be to do with the juice I use (pchela's famous 5 which is a butterscotch/caramel/chocolate mix) I've gone straight back to my iclear 16's that I've been using for ages.

If anyone wants to buy the iclear 30 from me for a fiver including postage send me a pm - used for half a tank with p5, washed out and left to air dry.

I also mix my own juice if you have any questions.

FlockOfTwats · 31/01/2014 23:33

I am a big fan of the innokin stuff and i am contemplating an addition. My OH is getting an itaste 134, With his christmas money his parents gave him (Because no way in fuckery would i normally spend £124 on a battery).

I am considering a cool fire 2 or the MVP Nbee linked to, although i tried one like that as wasnt blown away or anything, but i think it was a slightly different model because the clearo fit on it differently.

Going to try a cool fire 2 when he gets them in the shop. Also considering a Vamo or lava tube though as i've liked them (Other shop uses them for testing) liquids).

FlockOfTwats · 31/01/2014 23:35

That IS an excellent price nbee - Any idea how long its lasting for? I have to wait about 7 weeks until i can treat myself!

FlockOfTwats · 31/01/2014 23:36

Oh yes, it was the VTR i tried, no the MVP

FlockOfTwats · 31/01/2014 23:45

VERY TEMPTED

LedareAnsley · 01/02/2014 00:13

I have already fucked-up one of my GS-H2's and am having to use the red one which looks exactly like the penis of the Yorkshire terrier I had as a child Sad

QueenStromba · 01/02/2014 01:15

That MVP is bargainous! I think it might even be cheaper than the one I got from Fast Tech. I've just ordered one because it's so cheap even though I don't really need a second one at the moment.

QueenStromba · 01/02/2014 01:16

What's wrong with the GSH2 Ledare?

LedareAnsley · 01/02/2014 01:24

I love it - apart from the current one looking like a dog's cock, but I am still getting used to unscrewing from the bottom to fill or change battery and which bits to unscrew. I saw someone on Youtube making the same mistake and liquid going everywhere.

I also tried to dry-burn the clear GSH2 and I don't think you are supposed to...

QueenStromba · 01/02/2014 01:34

They are prone to tasting burnt. I liked them for a bit until I discovered the iclears. I think I'll keep them for tasting new flavours before I put them in an iclear but won't use them otherwise.

LedareAnsley · 01/02/2014 01:40

They are so much better (when not used by people like me) than CE4s. I'm scandalised that the socialites shop is selling those for £5 each and marketing them as disposable when they can be cleaned Shock

I'm going for iClears next.

QueenStromba · 01/02/2014 02:21

They are a million times better than the CE4s.

Allergictoironing · 01/02/2014 09:10

Try not to get too excited with suggestions for my shopping guys - I only have around £100 to spend including the fluid makings Sad. Spending half my budget or more on one battery would seriously restrict me on other stuff.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 01/02/2014 09:26

Allergic, what are you using at the moment?

FlockOfTwats · 01/02/2014 09:28

Allergic

www.fasttech.com/product/1400400-authentic-innokin-itaste-vv-v3-0-variable-volt

I have this and i think its grat. And a good price :)

QueenStromba · 01/02/2014 09:43

The MVP is £38 including postage from my epack and it comes with an iclear 30 which is worth about £12 on it's own so the battery is only £26 really. Ooh and they have iclear 16s for £3 - they're normally about £6 on UK sites.

Allergictoironing · 01/02/2014 09:44

Plenty I have a couple of standard eGo type batteries (510 thread, one plain one blingy) and some CE4 tanks. Regarding that I want at least 1 more battery of some description, preferably nice looking & suitable for out & about, and slightly more long lasting and maintainable tanks. Don't want anything too fiddly, minimum hassle.

I've been buying ready made juice up to now (Smartcigs do my absolutely favourite tobacco flavour of all time, and I adore the Hangsen pineapple) but want to mix my own juice so will need suggestions on the minimum equipment needed to do this safely & successfully.

If I had the kind of money I had a couple of years ago I would have just gone out & bought top of the range everything plus anything that caught my eye to try out, and made sure I had all the possible bits & kit for juice mixing. But currently out of work and being a single person with my own house I have to count every penny usually, this £100 is my big chance to get everything I'm going to need for a few months before the money vanishes into the black hole of utility bills etc

LedareAnsley · 01/02/2014 11:13

What the hell am I doing wrong with my GSH2's? I was out shopping, unit upright in my bag then all of a sudden, liquid in the middle tube. I got home, filled the cleaned and dry other one, a few puffs then liquid in the tube again!

I bought a special bottle with an extra fine filler tip (like a needle) so I'm not getting liquid in there to start with Confused

On the plus side I am a WEEK smoke-free Grin
