AIBU ... to STILL feel positively evangelical about electronic cigarettes? [thread 2]

magimedi · 15/11/2013 22:02

Here we go with thread two.

There is a great deal of information on Thread One about vaping :

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1865547-to-feel-positively-evangelical-about-electronic-cigarettes?pg=1

I think that many of us have been able to give up smoking thanks to e-cigs & vaping & are all feeling the positive results & want to spread the message.

Yes Tiredmumno1 I feel as though I've joined a lovely friendly community on this thread. Grin

Thanks to all of you.

ilovesooty · 16/11/2013 21:12

Paradise Vape's web site and store has been relaunched.

Tiredmumno1 · 16/11/2013 22:39

Oooo I shall have a look, thanks for letting us know Smile

WorraLiberty · 16/11/2013 22:45

I'm sure this is of no use to anyone since no-one knows where I live but...

I went into my local newsagents today and on the counter, they had electronic cigs in mild, extra strength and menthol...with a sign saying "Try me for free".

I was thinking "Eww...why would you want to puff on something that's been in other people's mouths?"

Then I noticed a bag of disposable clip on mouth pieces...a bit like what Police use on breathalizers.

Anyway, I just thought it was a really good idea and thought I'd share it Grin

Good luck to everyone giving up smoking and taking up vaping Thanks

Tiredmumno1 · 16/11/2013 23:04

haha I've never seen that worra, that's actually a really good idea Grin.

sooty the site has changed loads, it'll take a bit of getting used to, it does look better though Smile.

KungFuBustle · 17/11/2013 09:08

Morning all

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 17/11/2013 09:35

Morning!

Last night I tried Dekang Melon and it was narsty. When I was a kid I got given a set of melon scented note cards. This smelt just like that but tasted of completely nothing. DH has decided he likes it though so that's OK. I must say these Dekang liquids have a very good throat hit considering they're 16mg and I usually vape 18.

Those mouth pieces sound like a great idea Worra. When I'm out, someone always wants to have a try of mine.

That's great that Paradise Vape have a new site. Lots of us on the old thread ordered kits like this from there (although this one looks a bit better). It's not the best kit in the world but IT COSTS LESS THAN A PACKET OF FAGS and will give you a good idea of whether vaping might be for you.

waikikamookau · 17/11/2013 09:49

still not sure aobut paradise vape without an address on their website. tbh

fifi669 · 17/11/2013 10:33

I was having e cigs about 50% of the time, rollies the other 50%. I def think I was winning though and bought a USB rechargeable cig and refills.

Now I'm pregnant and need to give up. E cigs say not for use by pregnant women. Is this because of the nicotine I.e. Just as bad in that respect as normal tobacco.... Or because they're relatively new and so could be dangerous?

I'm finding it really hard now I can't use my e cigs!

waikikamookau · 17/11/2013 10:35

well i still to recall trying to give up smoking when pregnant and i wasnt suposed to use nicotine replacement therapy.
surely the electronic cigs are better than smoking in terms of you unborn baby?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 17/11/2013 10:58

Oh shit have they still not put an address on their site?

I've had two orders from them with no problems but I can understand why people are cautious.

fifi669 · 17/11/2013 11:12

That's what I'm thinking.... They have to be better don't they??? I 'smoke' a lot less when I use the e cigs too. I just wondered if the warning was a nicotine in general warning or a could make baby grow two heads warning?

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 17/11/2013 11:20

I am on day 3 of vaping, I have had 1-2 cigarette much less than the 15 I have been smoking.

I feel like crap, my throat is killing as is my chest.

KungFuBustle · 17/11/2013 11:22

I think that's normal Forty, sure I read that it's your lungs starting to work better without the thousands of chemicals in cigs.

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 17/11/2013 11:28

www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/smoking-pregnant.aspx

It says on the nhs website that NRT is ok to use while pregnant.

Thanks kungfubustle I feel like I am dying.

SnapespeareSong · 17/11/2013 11:29

Stopped smoking two weeks ago. Got a kit and 4 flavours from vape escape, I'm really happy with it! Currently on 'cocomel' which is lovely, thinking of next order being cherry menthol, but a bit worried it will be like smoking a 'tune' :)

mrstigs · 17/11/2013 11:50

Hello guys.
After falling off the non smoking wagon (again) last week I decided to try vapeing. I have got an Eros CE4 ecig from mirage with spearmint liquid. It's really nice. Smile
Now I have learnt from the thread that the clear bit I put liquid in will wear out quite quickly. I have got two in the pack, but when those go they are about £7-8 each. They seem much cheaper on ebay, but im not sure on compatibility. Do any clear bits fit on any batteries?

ilovesooty · 17/11/2013 11:54

If you have a CE4 any normal clearo will fit your battery.

FunnysInLaJardin · 17/11/2013 12:07

I have just bought a vision spinner and clearomiser and 2 bottles of liquid in Gold and Silver and Caramel and is it sooooo much better than the cartomisers. I can also still use my ecig batteries which is a good thing as the vision spinner is MASSIVE and won't fit into my pocket!

Also had about 2 fags in the last 2 weeks, I just don't want to smoke any more

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 17/11/2013 12:12

Yay lots of new faces. Welcome and congratulations to you all Flowers

fifi congratulations on your pregnancy. You could use the e cig to cut down to 0 nic? Glad someone has found some official info for you Smile

forty you might do better with a VG based liquid as it's easier on the throat. It does take a while to get the crud out of your system though.

mrstigs yes you can put just about any sucky thing on your battery. Be aware though that some of the cheapo clearos are absolute shite. If you want some the same, I got these and they worked ok. I prefer GS-H2 clearos though, and they're even cheaper.

not2nitedarling · 17/11/2013 12:14

I gave up on 22nd sept. not a single puff on a ciggie since. I smoked for 25 years. I use my e cig a ot less now and am reducing the nicotine levels gradually. Good luck everyone!! Keep up the good work. x

FunnysInLaJardin · 17/11/2013 12:18

actually, how long does a clearo last? I only have one and will order more of they wear out

mrstigs · 17/11/2013 12:26

Fabulous thanks. Smile
And I'm guessing any liquids too rather than always getting them from the mirage shop? This sounds like fun. Hopefully enough fun to stop me popping back off to the shop for twenty Richmond...
Im using both for today and maybe tomorrow as I still have a few left and I'd never be able to quit knowing I'd not used them up, and it would bug me even more if I threw them away. (The excuses of an addictive mind) Then I'm looking forward to being free again. I hate being a slave to a stick of harmful chemicals.

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 17/11/2013 12:32

Mrstig I feel the same only got 2 left. Going to smoke them today at some point. Then once they are gone they are gone.

£200 a month on smoking is really an expensive habit to have.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 17/11/2013 12:35

Yes, any liquid. Joose Juice is good and cheap.

Funny, clearos can last over a month but can also go at any time. If I were you I'd get at least one spare in, just in case.
