To wonder where this 'storm' is

5am we had a pathetic attempt at a thunderstorm, it's been a gorgeous day today only just started raining. I have torches, curtains and windows open ready to enjoy 'St Jude's' but nothing...why do we bother having a weather forecast!

Disclaimer: While I enjoy a few gusts and thunder and lightening I in no way want a huge storm that will affect others in any negative way*

Selks · 27/10/2013 22:25

PestoSpookissimos · 27/10/2013 22:27

It's here in Brighton!

cantspel · 27/10/2013 22:28

It has started here on the south coast so it is on its way to the rest of you

Boggler · 27/10/2013 22:28

Yanbu there's not so much as a slight breeze around here!

Grotbagstwin · 27/10/2013 22:29

My dp's boss has emailed all the drivers to say stay at home until 6am as its due to hit midlands about 3-4am..... I expect it to be bad if he is willing to lose money Grin

CaptainSweatPants · 27/10/2013 22:31

Well if you'd watched the weather forecast you'd know when it's forecast in your area!

UnicornsNotRiddenByGrownUps · 27/10/2013 22:32

I'm in Scotland and we have really heavy rain. Can't sleep because of it so came on here hoping for some storm porn!

RubyGoat · 27/10/2013 22:33

We're still waiting here too. Have stocked up on food that can be cooked on the gas hob, located candles etc.

OverMyDeadQODdy · 27/10/2013 22:33

It's here now, SE Kent coast

worley · 27/10/2013 22:33

I'm in East Anglia. No wind or rain as yet but our train services are all cancelled for tomorrow morning till around 9am. It's not meant to hit is till approximately 8am here

Weegiemum · 27/10/2013 22:35

We're in Scotland - rain is heavy but little wind. Even what is forecast is not the worst to hit the uk since 1987 which i read earlier, just the worst to hit the south of england. We'd really bad hurricane force up here last winter and the year before.

bundaberg · 27/10/2013 22:36

i'm in w.sussex and we've had a ton of quite heavy rain which has now kind of stopped. nothing else. no wind

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 27/10/2013 22:37

it's just normal weather

cantspel · 27/10/2013 22:37

I am in west sussex but right on the coast and the winds are starting to blow. nothing bad yet but with the lashing rain it is not a pleasant night for a stroll along the sea front

UnicornsNotRiddenByGrownUps · 27/10/2013 22:39

WeegieMum yeh I can't see it being as bad as those winds. With bits flying off buildings. Shock Crossing the forth road bridge was terrifying!

Iaintdunnuffink · 27/10/2013 22:39

In Berkshire. It was windy today with the odd angry looking sky, then it went very calm with a bit of drizzle. I was thinking that it wouldn't be so bad or was going to mainly miss us. There's still no wind but the rain is building up.

lubeybooby · 27/10/2013 22:40

IT ISN'T DUE TIL 3AM ISH! GAAHHHHH

BreconBeBuggered · 27/10/2013 22:43

It's not meant to have hit any of us yet. What we've got at the moment is plain October shitty weather.

BreconBeBuggered · 27/10/2013 22:44

Oops, forgot to refresh before posting. What lubey said.

Weegiemum · 27/10/2013 22:45

yes the hurricane force in dec 2011 was nasty - every single glass recycle bin in our street was blown away, there was glass everywhere. my dh couldnt get home from work for 2 nights, roads were blocked. Tree branches crushed several cars in nour street.

I hope its not that bad for s england tonight. out children were off school for 3 days then as it was too dangerous to let wee ones out of the house!

saintmerryweather · 27/10/2013 22:47

im in south east kent and we've got bog standard heavy rain and a few gusts of wind

ConfusedPixie · 27/10/2013 22:50

Apparently it's in Brighton, a friend has her power down, I haven't seen or heard much yet though! Though we have got weird weather systems and I am not on the seafront. I've been checking the back periodically to see if I'll see some lightening but nowt :(

OverMyDeadQODdy · 27/10/2013 22:51

You on a hill saint? It's died back a bit but deffo strong winds. Trees down in local town too
