To wonder where this 'storm' is

5am we had a pathetic attempt at a thunderstorm, it's been a gorgeous day today only just started raining. I have torches, curtains and windows open ready to enjoy 'St Jude's' but nothing...why do we bother having a weather forecast!

Disclaimer: While I enjoy a few gusts and thunder and lightening I in no way want a huge storm that will affect others in any negative way*

It's wild and windy here in south east London at the moment. High winds and lashing rain which woke me up.

In Monmouthshire / Wye Valley just had some strong rain but no battering gail force winds. Noticed on my weather app they downgraded / removed the Amber warning altogether and the wind speed isnt 40kph now it is only 13. Rest of this week looks sunny and showers, thats all.

Much rather the weather forecast was erring on side of caution. They did say the whole weather system could shift and UK would miss the worst effects, looks like they are right

In south east London it is still raging and a lot of trains have been cancelled. I'm hoping some of the pine branches from my neighbour's tree have come down so I don't have to sweep up so many of their * pine needles

It hasn't missed us. Am sitting here waiting for my employers to wake up and tell us we are closed. If not, I shall be seriously annoyed: we close for a few inches of snow and what is out there now looks far more dangerous. Trees coming down all over the city, roads closing.

Well my garden is a right mess but thankfully my Guinea pigs are ok, so far. It's still blowing a gale and I am thankful it's half term. Hopefully my Sainsbury's delivery will make it as I don't want to go out driving in it!
Terribly sad to hear about that poor teenager who was swept out to sea yesterday. I hope there are no other incidents like that. Hopefully everyone else is ok.

It hit Brean Sands near Weston Super Mare at around 0400. At 0420 the wind managed to turn the corner of our metal storage bin back on itself - so I think they were pretty strong!

Now that it's light, I can see it's not raining but it is very windy in S.London.

It is very windy here in the extreme south east. But nothing bad has happened yet.

South west here, we live 800m up and have a windmill nearby as it's a pretty windy spot.....but today trees are barely moving! We have a few leaves down in the night but no storm here luckily

Rainy & windy here in Oxford, but hardly the apocalypse, although friends just outside Oxford have had their power going on & off this morning.

South Midlands here and just a bit of rain.

I woke at various points during the night expecting howling wind and lashing rain, especially as we're in quite a high exposed spot, but there was nowt.

I thought we were supposed to have had it here by now.

I'm in Essex and I've just lost the roof off my shed. Has been hanging on for dear life for a while though!

Well, Broughton has it now! Buses all going though, no flooding, not much tree damage according to heart. We have power too. I'm halfway up wilson Ave area, so not right on the seafront but not fully protected by the hill. Debating which way to head to work though Hmm

I see 'Daybreak' are doing their best to whip us into a storm frenzy! 'Twas some bad weather not an apocalypse!

No storm here on glos/worcs border, just a bit of rain and wind no worse than I've seen before.

Bloody stupid weather forecasters hyping it up Hmm

It managed to k eep me awake most of the night, with the strongest winds happening here between 5.00 and 6.00 a.m.
Lots of tree debris around and we have 2 fence panels down. Haven't checked the roof yet!
There is the sound of chainsaws nearby; looks like a tree is down just down the road.
It's on its way to Berkshire now, I gather.
