Do I give this information to crime stoppers?

Ok, I've just found something alarming out and am in a bit of a tizz.
Back story is I have a history of drug addiction.
Someone I know has started selling cocaine, I found out by accident and clearly it wasn't meant for me to hear due to back story, but nonetheless I now have this info.

This person has children who are in contact with my DD through school, clubs etc.

Given I'm clearly not in a position to be judgemental as I have messy history with this drug, I still find it wrong.

Would you report?

You know a drug dealer who has children.

Whether you call 101 (not crimestoppers) is up to you.

If you feel a child is in danger then of course you should contact the relevant authorities.

Yes, of course. It's not about being 'judemental'. Someone selling illegal drugs is pretty clearly wrong to most people, I'd hope! Make sure you do it anonymously though:

I just don't know if I should keep my nose out and pretend I didn't get the info. It might be they have had to do this for all sorts of reasons and getting the child's parents out whine bars wouldn't be beneficial either to the child.

It would be purely their actions that would get them put behind bars, not yours. They are the ones who chose to sell drugs, not you.

I wish I didn't know this.
It's such an emotive one for me too my head is whirling with this.
Maybe I should just report then my own conscious is clear, but then is it? If those kids get taken away it would be my fault.

Poor op. i feel for you. I think i would report. Just because its beneficialto child doesnt make it right. It doesnt make you judgemental either.

It's absolutely not your fault - this isn't Breaking Bad we're living in, s/he has chose to sell this drug and if the children are taken away, THAT's why, not anything you did.

You know better than anyone the danger that this person poses to everyone around them, not just their children.

No. It would destroy their family if she went to prison.
No matter how wrong you think it is (especially the negative impact on the kids of being around this life), their lives would be made a lot worse if their mum goes to prison.
It is a tough one though.

Remember the people they are selling drugs to will be having their children taken away for neglect etc and the drug seller couldn't give a shit about them.

Report it. She's breaking the law, she's probably selling cocaine cut with all sorts of shit that could possibly even kill somebody.

report it, she may not get a custodial sentence but if there is a back story here of drug taking she may get the help she needs. would you want your dd to grow up in this situation?

Rattle it's a service where you can report things anonymously, not directly to the police.
My other thought is what if one of her kids her their hands on something and is hurt?
I think I need to report it.
Anyone else got anything to add?

If shes selling that crap she deserves to have her kids taken away!its irresponsible and dangerous.imagine if any of her clients got pissed off with her, the danger hwr kuds would be in!
What if her kids found the drugs??

I can't actually believe someone is saying no it will destroy her family. Drugs destroy lives! If she was so concerned about her family she wouldn't be selling that shit to start with. Definitely report her. The less dealers on the streets the better

She's selling the drugs to someone's child, to someone's mother, to someone's brother, etc etc.

Please do report. If there are genuine extenuating circumstances then she might escape a custodial sentence anyway and can get the help she needs. In the meantime you might have saved someone's life.

I found out as I received a text that wasn't meant for me.
My name has the same first letter as hers so I'm guessing that's what's happened.
Text asking for 5 grams and if there was a discount.
I replied with 'this isn't for me' and got another one back saying 'omg, so sorry was meant for x'
Then about 5 mins later when it clicked in the texters mind what THEY HAD ACTUALLY SAID a third saying 'massive mistake on my part please keep this to yourself I don't want anyone to find out I do this'

If you report will they know it's you? I agree that Crimestoppers is better than 101 in your situation. You do need to report, it's not okay for them to do this.

I'd report it, you will know first hand what addiction can do. She s is potentially ruining other families lives
