I'm pregnant with # 3 and just got this from friend (also pg) it's a picture of a baby scan with a poem written over it

In tears (of laughter!

Yes I'm a bitch

Admire me for my bloated, swollen cankled grace? Hahahaha. Oh

Mummy, can you feel me?
I'm wriggling just for you.
I can hear you say you love me,
Mum I love you too.

Very soon you'll meet me,
And kiss my tiny face.
And I will feel your warm skin,
And admire you for your grace.

Mummy are you ready?
My life is just about to start.
I will hold your little finger,
But you will hold my heart.

That's AMAZING Grin

littlemog · 31/08/2013 11:03

She is probably trying to do a nice thing. Not my cup of tea but the ridicule is a bit much.

BlackAffronted · 31/08/2013 11:04

A bit twee fo rme, but she wasnt being horrible?

SomethingOnce · 31/08/2013 11:05

My toes are curling so hard that my feet are going numb.

It is a bit mean to post it on here though.

IHateGardenCentres · 31/08/2013 11:07

No I know, to be fair it wasn't just sent to me- she tagged all the pregant women she knew on the pic (on the dreaded FB)

Glad you're not my friend !

kikid · 31/08/2013 11:09

Yabvu and a Bitch

ILetHimKeep20Quid · 31/08/2013 11:09

It's a bit naff but you seem a bit mean

pigletmania · 31/08/2013 11:11

that poem brings tears to my eyes, the way your child looks up at you is just something.

Loppyphyliss · 31/08/2013 11:12

Hilarious :-D cheered me up just reading it!

YANBU!

SilverApples · 31/08/2013 11:13

It is naff, but she is your friend and friends don't mock the sincere offerings of others. Sad
She meant well, why are you being unkind?

Shellywelly1973 · 31/08/2013 11:14

Mmmm...yabu.

Maybe your friend thought you would appreciate the sentiment behind the verse. I have been sent this but it didn't occur to me to post on here about it.

softlysoftly · 31/08/2013 11:15

Naff Naff Naff but if she likes it then yab a bit mean

IHateGardenCentres · 31/08/2013 11:15

Oh ok I'm being a bit mean Blush
She is a bit of a prolific "like if your children are your world" type FB poster, though, so maybe I'm a bit numb to it

waikikamookau · 31/08/2013 11:15

is it your friend's first?

people do get emotional when pregnant, particularly first timers.

HotDogHotDogHotDiggityDog · 31/08/2013 11:16

What kikid said.

Not my cup of tea but still....

waikikamookau · 31/08/2013 11:16

obviously that should have read some people get emotional, not all, before anyone jumps on me claiming to have been cold hearted baby machine when pregnant. Wink

Birdsgottafly · 31/08/2013 11:17

There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that it is another person you are carrying and not just something that fulfills a need in you, even if that is why you created the baby that you are carrying.

There would be a lot less fucked up people if a good percentage of the population took on some of the sentiment behind these types of messages.

I wish that every baby was loved, in that way, sadly they aren't.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 31/08/2013 11:17

Why is the OP a bad friend just because she thought it was naff? Do none of you ever think negative things about some of the things your friends do or say?

wigglesrock · 31/08/2013 11:19

I'd have probably rolled my eyes but been secretly chuffed someone thought to send me something nice. But then I'm too old to worry about being too kool for skool.

I'm assuming she doesn't use Mumsnet, otherwise she's going to wondering which of her friends thinks so little of her. I mean it's twee but twee never hurt anybody.

SilverApples · 31/08/2013 11:20

It's like the crappy Rainbow Bridge poem, or Holland that people keep being sent if they are part of the SN community.
Or all those 'Pwincess on Board' labels.
Your friend thought she'd found something sweet that might cheer up someone who probably looks like a bloated weeble and who is grumbling all the time about pointless shit.
She was wrong, just hide the post.

Sorry, call me cold hearted but I don't think my unborn child loves me yet

OP posts:
littlemog · 31/08/2013 11:20

I think it's the posting of it on here and the holding it up for public ridicule which strikes an 'off' note with others.
