I don't think the flip-flop basket bride is Gluezilla - her request is quite reasonable, offers a fee and an invite to enjoy the evening reception with your date. Though I did snigger at 'bring out the flip flop basket'.

No, of course flip-flop-basket-bride isn't Glue.

Glue's wedding was last Saturday (24th Aug). Flip-flop bride's wedding is today (Sat 31 Aug).

Answer, "Wasn't there as wasn't invited (despite a Save the Date card). GZ did seem to expect that I would want to decorate the hall for her. I didn't."

I told questioning friend the truth, don't worry!

I'm not out to humiliate gluezilla, but it is nice to know that I can set the record straight with some people!

I cant believe the gluesome twosome sat on a podium, that is so naff, glad nobody decorated the venue serves her right

Tidy it is sad when something like this happens but you can look back and know you behaved with dignity unlike gluezilla

She was stunned, but full of sympathy thankfully. She is someone who knows me as well as she knows gluezilla, so I imagine its probably a bit difficult for her but she hasn't doubted me.

I'm a bit surprised gluezilla didn't have ready to go lies sorted out tbh.

It's not your place to defend her at all - you've done nothing wrong (as you know!) & are perfectly within your rights to tell people honestly what happened.

She was happy to do what she did, so should be happy to stand by her actions.

Well done Tidy - you should be proud of yourself & your dignity throughout this whole situation.

I expect she was only just realizing, when she got cagey and didn't give details, that her actions were questionable and people were indeed asking those very questions. Up until then she thought her behaviour was all fine and dandy.

I still love the 'misunderstanding'. what was there to misunderstand? also you didn't make the cut so why isn't glue just telling people that? she never had to be cagey nor explain the decorating thing, she didn't invite you end of. surely glue just had to say you unfortunately lost on the invite lottery.

Flip-flop-basket bride mentions a barn and a hog-roast, so I wonder if she's having her reception in a field (sounds rather fun!) and is being kind enough to provide flip flops for those people who don't want to ruin their smart shoes? I like the sound of flip-flop-basket bride Grin

Fru - gluezilla did have a hog roast but the flip-flops weren't her!

the only way I can understand glue saying there was a misunderstanding like that is if she's planning on going 'I didn't want to say on the day as I'm so upset but tidy offered to decorate then let me down at the last minute for no reason, and that's why she didn't come'
