To let dd wee in the sea?

I have never done it and in my pre baby days would have thought it terrible!

Fast forward to an isolated beach dd1 (3) in the sea needs a wee and I just took one look at picking up all my gear, drying her off, trecking to find a loo that probably filters straight to the sea and wrestling her back into a damp cossie, all while holding baby dd2 and told her to just wee in the sea.

When DH arrived and she proudly told him her special sea wee treat he said I WBU to let her.

So who IBU?

GoofyIsACow · 31/07/2013 15:03

YWNBU the sea is full of piss!

WorraLiberty · 31/07/2013 15:03

YANBU

Why on earth does your DH think you were BU? Confused

ginmakesitallok · 31/07/2013 15:03

Of course yanbu! It's perfectly acceptable to wee in the sea

curlew · 31/07/2013 15:03

Do people NOT wee in the sea?

WorraLiberty · 31/07/2013 15:04

Jeez even I wee in the see when I get caught short Grin

It's a lot better than the stinking/filthy seafront toilets.

squoosh · 31/07/2013 15:04

What the hell is wrong with weeing in the sea? I'm gobsmacked that anyone could be shocked by that.

Where else was she supposed to wee, in the sand? It would still have ended up in the sea you know.

WhatHo · 31/07/2013 15:05

Cripes, it wouldn't even have occurred to me to think twice about it. What was your DH's problem?

A bit of child pee is the least of the sea's worries.

freddiefrog · 31/07/2013 15:05

God no, even I've weed in the sea

BornToFolk · 31/07/2013 15:05

It would have been utterly mad to drag her out of the sea, pack everything up and go and find a (probably minging) public loo!

The sea is huge! It can handle a bit of wee.

babysaurus · 31/07/2013 15:05

Of course YANBU, its bonkers to suggest otherwise!

WhatHo · 31/07/2013 15:06

Worra well exactly. Plus I surf so I wee in my wetsuit, as does every SINGLE other surfer I know. Tell your husband that, OP Grin

squoosh · 31/07/2013 15:06

Everyone wees in the sea!

Show me the person who when swimming in the sea and feels to urge to wee, gets out of the sea, dries off, gets dressed and goes in search of a public toilet..................and I'll show you a liar.

BackforGood · 31/07/2013 15:07

Of course YANBU - surely it's the only reason to go into the sea when in the UK ?

ginmakesitallok · 31/07/2013 15:08

I was cross with dd1 when she point blank refused to wee in the sea on holidays and we had to get all our stuff together and hunt for a loo. Nothing I said would convince her it wasn't the same as weeing in a pool

EhricLovesTeamQhuay · 31/07/2013 15:09

3 fluid ounces of wee going into the sea. How many fluid ounces of water are in the sea? It gets diluted immediately to the point of no longer existing as wee.

WorraLiberty · 31/07/2013 15:09

WhatHo, how do the farts escape? Or do you just end up inadvertently paragliding? Grin

WorraLiberty · 31/07/2013 15:10

X posts kim!

squoosh · 31/07/2013 15:11

How uptight is your husband OP?

Seenenoughtoknow · 31/07/2013 15:11

Yanbu - ex-surfer too and agree with WhatHo.

JacqueslePeacock · 31/07/2013 15:11

Doesn't everyone?

Didactylos · 31/07/2013 15:11

the sea is the biggest solution...

livinginwonderland · 31/07/2013 15:12

Surely everyone pees in the sea?!

ProudNeathGirl · 31/07/2013 15:13

YANBU - everyone wees in the sea.

I wee'd in a river while we were on holiday - we were canoeing at the time, and I HAD to go, so hopped over the side for a swim wee.
