To let dd wee in the sea?

I have never done it and in my pre baby days would have thought it terrible!

Fast forward to an isolated beach dd1 (3) in the sea needs a wee and I just took one look at picking up all my gear, drying her off, trecking to find a loo that probably filters straight to the sea and wrestling her back into a damp cossie, all while holding baby dd2 and told her to just wee in the sea.

When DH arrived and she proudly told him her special sea wee treat he said I WBU to let her.

So who IBU?

yes, that's fine. It's full of fish piss already.

MooseBeTimeForSpring · 31/07/2013 19:50

Ok then. So, if you get out of a pool to go to the loo, do you pull your cozzie to one side or pee through it?

frogwatcher42 · 31/07/2013 19:51

Nooooo Moose. Please tell me you dont do either!

Take the cossie down of course.

Alohomora · 31/07/2013 19:52

I take the cossie down. Other option is to nick into the showers and give yourself a quick hosedown if nobody's there - ideally pick a shower with a drain directly in it.

stupidlybroody · 31/07/2013 19:56

Cossie comes off...and much swearing is had trying to get it on again!

MooseBeTimeForSpring · 31/07/2013 20:00

I have one of those high necked ones with a zip down the back. I hate trying to get it back on. It's all cold and slappy.

WhatHo · 31/07/2013 20:03

Ah there's always one quoteunquote, and you are it Grin

I love the brief warm feeling you get when peeing during a cold January surf.

one it knackers the wet suit then they rub, and don't last long Only if you don't wash them out afterwards. I do hope you wash your wetsuit out?

MadBannersAndCopPorn · 31/07/2013 20:03

Pull cossie to one side, wee, wipe= difficult- especially with crappy tissue you get in swimming pool loos, replace cossie- simples

WhatHo · 31/07/2013 20:06

It's the swim up bar you want to be wary of. All those holiday makers sitting during for hours without leaving their seats.

God I never thought of this. Yuck. Envy

Dizzypurple best worst joke evah

frogwatcher42 · 31/07/2013 20:07

Don't ships empty loos into the sea? Certainly small boats do - I have been known to hang off the side in a boat without a loo. Made everybody go into the cockpit (or whatever it is called) first though to give me a little privacy.

Sallystyle · 31/07/2013 20:12

I think it is fine.

My dh is really weird about it though and hates it.

Hamwidgeandcheps · 31/07/2013 20:23

Arf at whale poo!
My dd (also 3) is strictly told no poos at the beach - didn't occur to me to worry about wees!
If dh still bothered then ask him to buy you a Potette Grin

Turniptwirl · 31/07/2013 21:04

Who doesn't pee in the sea? And certainly never met anyone who would think it unreasonable for a small child to do so even if they wouldn't admit to doing it themselves.

DizzyPurple · 31/07/2013 21:14

WhatHo pleased you appreciated my joke.

Swimming pools? costume to the side! Too much hassle taking soggy cold costume off (although I do make dd take it off should the need arise but she is only 3 so needs to hang on to something!)

LEMisdisappointed · 31/07/2013 21:19

YANBU - however i find if i wee in the sea or bath Blush it actually stings, does anyone else find this?

It does help with getting in the sea though when its cold Grin

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 31/07/2013 21:21

Wee in sea fine, wee in public swimming pool NOT fine

Coffeenowplease · 31/07/2013 21:27

Ive never peed in the sea but Id let a 3 year old ofcourse I would !

softlysoftly · 31/07/2013 21:59

DH claims it was a wetsuit not wee issue, I am unconvinced he isn't backing down from the weight of YABU without losing face but heyho.

I have never weed in the sea due to having camel bladder but shall have to steel myself and try it!

Swimming pool is cossie off though I hate the wet wrestle to redress.

ZingWidge · 01/08/2013 00:08

ZingWidge · 01/08/2013 01:24
