my suitor left his partner of 14 years recently. He claims they were not legally married.

I told him i think it too soon for him to be entering into a courtship. He believes otherwise.

I have told that if he is as serious about me as he claims he his, i expect to be introduced to his ExP and children.

AIBU?

Do you know any of his friends? If you are trying to establish whether he is actually single (and can understand why the rented room would ring alarm bells) then friends of his would be the best place to check.

You would be unreasonable to demand to see his ex and children just to satisfy this question - if it is a recent split then I would imagine that they will be in emotional turmoil and the last thing they would need is a new woman using them to check their father's credentials.

So maybe suggest going out with some of his friends and gauge the situation then.

OP is never going to come back to update us, is she?

gilly86 · 10/03/2013 18:29

Doesn't look like it yellow! Sad

YellowStickers · 10/03/2013 18:47

I reckon we should surmise what the outcome is...they definitely went up the aisle Grin and had a big church hug afterwards

YellowStickers · 10/03/2013 19:03

I just popped over to see her other thread and notice she hasn't got back to them either. She is either up the aisle or in the middle of a great big church hug.

She also said on the other thread Should my SO have children, I would make sure he is providing for them as a father should.

Good luck on that one then Hmm

Obvious troll is obvious..

Montybojangles · 10/03/2013 19:30

Don't think so, if you search her name she as been posting for some time. Seems to be mainly re childminding. Almost a Shame really, as at the beginning I thought it as going to be a blinding piece of comedy.

YellowStickers · 10/03/2013 19:33

It was a blinding piece of comedy!

Witchofthenorth · 10/03/2013 19:33

It is a bit of a shame she wont be back, I also thought it was a wind up thread at the beginning Grin

Plus side?...I popped my "message deleted by mumsnet" cherry Grin Im not sure if I am outraged or incredibally proud...

Witchofthenorth · 10/03/2013 19:35

*incredibly

Montybojangles · 10/03/2013 19:36

I know, i know, but then I felt like I had to behave once I realised she might be in earnest....

YellowStickers · 10/03/2013 19:42

some of my messages were also deleted. I feel the same as you witch.

And like you Monty I thought it was a wind up but apologised when I realised she was being earnest.

gilly86 · 10/03/2013 19:54

One of my messages was deleted and I don't even know why! Out of all the things I posted it was the most genuine! LOL!

YellowStickers · 10/03/2013 19:58

I was waiting with baited breath in church today, at the end when the vicar was giving out notices and asked if anyone had anything else to add. I turned to look and was just aching for ActiveC to mention church hugs and going up the aisle Grin. It didn't happen.

IneedAgoldenNickname · 10/03/2013 20:33

It didn't happen at my church either :( on the plus side, we did get cake after the service for a change!

YellowStickers · 10/03/2013 21:15

Ineed we had cake too.

No one standing up to talk of church hugs, and cake at the end...coincidence? Or do we go to the same church??

IneedAgoldenNickname · 10/03/2013 21:46

Hmmm, curiouser and curiouser! Us your church attached to a school?

YellowStickers · 11/03/2013 07:28

erm, yes!!

IneedAgoldenNickname · 11/03/2013 08:24

Yikes! Is it having building work done at the moment?

YellowStickers · 11/03/2013 13:41

Did you get flowers yesterday??

IneedAgoldenNickname · 11/03/2013 13:55

Daffodils

YellowStickers · 11/03/2013 14:05

Oh yes...and there were lots!

YellowStickers · 11/03/2013 14:06

heeheehee can it be pure coincidence??

DreamingofSummer · 11/03/2013 14:07

OP do you have 6 fingers by any chance?

IneedAgoldenNickname · 11/03/2013 14:13

There were loads! Could be coincidence! Was it a normal communion service? Or a family one?
