my suitor left his partner of 14 years recently. He claims they were not legally married.

I told him i think it too soon for him to be entering into a courtship. He believes otherwise.

I have told that if he is as serious about me as he claims he his, i expect to be introduced to his ExP and children.

AIBU?

This is the gift that keeps on giving.

Montybojangles · 09/03/2013 11:03

Kisses on the forehead, how very mordern of you. Is a nasi decree similar to a nasi goreng?

catgirl1976 · 09/03/2013 11:05

How long have you known him?

It sounds like you don't trust him. Perhaps you need to give it a bit longer and see if some trust develops or if you just don't think it's going to happen.

squeakytoy · 09/03/2013 11:06

Maybe he doesnt read books and perhaps he doesnt have any cd's... Confused

FellNel · 09/03/2013 11:07

Are you saying that you suspect he may have rented a room and left some shoes in it, to give the illusion of being single, just to lure unsuspecting ladies from church in for a bit of head-kissing, while his partner and children know nothing about it?

gilly86 · 09/03/2013 11:08

This thread is hilarious I'm glad I popped my head in.

What are "church hugs"? Are they literally hugs in church? Confused.

catgirl1976 · 09/03/2013 11:11

What reason has he given you for the breakup of his last relationship?

Do you have cause to think he is a raging philanderer or do you have trust issues in general

IMO, it would be easier for him to arrange illicit shags via a dating website, not by renting out a flat and picking up women in church but perhaps you have some reason to be wary of him?

Lucyellensmum95 · 09/03/2013 11:12

YABU if you don't provide us with more!! This could even put T-rex in the shade!

Did he leave you his calling card OP?

WeAreSix · 09/03/2013 11:12

Fabulous.

Darling, pass me the rice while I make my next scrabble move, would you?

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 09/03/2013 11:12
Grin excellent. a whole different world in here.
FellNel · 09/03/2013 11:12

Suitor, courtship, philanderer.

this is like Jane Austen Bingo.

YellowStickers · 09/03/2013 11:14

Church hugs??? Oh stop! Absolutely priceless. This is comedy gold. You are either a feckin fruitloop or a bloody genius.

gilly86 · 09/03/2013 11:14

In all seriousness, it's absolutely ridiculous you expect to be introduced to his children at this stage. Ex partner as well to be honest.

I don't think it's right for new partners to be introduced to children until the parent+new partner are serious and in a long term relationship, ie in it for the long haul!

As for the ex, I've no idea why you would want or need to.

gilly86 · 09/03/2013 11:15

But please post again because its funny Grin

Montybojangles · 09/03/2013 11:16

Ah-ha, hadn't thought of that one yellowStickers, the fiend, Leaving his wife and children don't actually know if he has any for church hugs. What a cad.

ActiveC · 09/03/2013 11:18

ladies please!

Can we keep it civil. Its not every day one meets someone that they can envision spending the rest of their life with.

As I dont have any previous experience with this kind of situation Im genuinely seeking advice.

im not demanding to meet his family asap but like i said it is an expectation of mine, should a serious relationship develop.

So all you ladies with children, the children never meet their dads new partner? you have no interest in what kind of women your child could potentialy be in the company of?

Is it 2013 still?

Feel like I'm in a weird twilight zone when I read this thread!

Still LOL at "suitor"!!!!!!!

IneedAgoldenNickname · 09/03/2013 11:20

Hmmm, there's a man at church that has, on occasion, hugged me, and kissed the top of my head. Plus I've met his children (and his ex)

Shall I tell my Mum to buy a hat?

StupidFlanders · 09/03/2013 11:20
