Is it just me or has there been an increase in goady thread derailing in the last couple of weeks? It seems even the most innocuous of threads are being deliberately diverted by posters who only post offensive or ridiculous comments then refuse to back down.

Not to have arguments with Goady Fuckers who are sitting at home delighted to have got us all off topic.

A lot of threads I've been on in the past few days have been taken completely off topic or detailed. Have we been invaded MNHQ or is it the work of a couple of fuckwits individuals?

I vote that when someone tries to derail a thread that we all ignore and do a mass report to MNHQ. They are fed up hearing from me in the past weeks.

You've inspired me to go and look for GFs, now that I have done my tax thingy.

Personally I favour quoting Monty Python in my MNHQ reports.

I like the idea of a GF smiley. A bit like just posting a and nowt else to alert people to avoid/ignore and leave them to argue with the alone. Or maybe just adopt the as the GF smiley? Who needs MNHQ to make these big important decisions?

Hmm, I agree with FloatyBeatie. It's not workable to distinguish betwee the strong opinions and natural meander of threads and the "goady fuckers". Too subjective.

And I probably qualify as a "goady fucker" sometimes. I have posted strong views that change the direction of play (more often I just kill the thread ). I NEVER do it because I want a fight or want to fuck the thread up. But sometimes that happens anyway. Depends who else is there and how strong the difference of opinion.

I think the PA policy and reporting individual incidents is more than adequate for managing the problems, more intervention would ruin the feel of the place and MNHQ are right to avoid doing that.

Trouble is, that posting such a thing could amount to goady fuckery in itself. One woman's goadyfuckbusting is another woman's goady fuck.

If I were to search your posts, I'd find a load of varied opinions and posts - a GF is different.

They post deliberately to misdirect the thread.

Hear hear. There have been some completley bonkers threads e.g. the beat boxing one. While amusing, FFS - first time poster complaininng for ten pages about beat boxing, people like beat boxing, and then saying they want MNHQ to delete the thread because people didn't agree with them? I was >< that close to thinking it was a piss take.

Next time I report I shall say 'My hovercraft is full of goady fuckers eels'

I hate those threads, that are very much prying into what colour pants you wear.

I think they need derailing with many pictures of bloomers.

It would seem appropriate for some posters.

If you are all going to report through the medium of Python I really hope that MNHQ will be jumping out at trolls and shouting "NO ONE expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise, fear and surprise; two chief weapons, fear, surprise, and Never Commenting on Procedure ..."

How do you derail a thread about knitting? How? Did someone come on and go "I hate knitting. You're all caaaaaaaaaaahs, you should be crocheting instead"

YANBU, they seem to have been about for a bit and it's tiresome. They are also queens of the report button
