What on earth went through his head when he decided to do this?! The poor woman has taken all her social networks down out of humiliation I presume. link

Crazy.

He is a teacher.

Their relationship is not one of equals.

He has massively abused his position.

If I were her mother I would want to kill him - how dare he go this. And how dare the authorities decide not to tell her patents that they were investigating this teacher.

And his poor wife Sad

Hulababy · 25/09/2012 19:43

Surely the age of consent is irrelevant here.
He is her teacher. He cannot have a relationship with her - or should not anyway. It's wrong - on all levels it is wrong.

Tuttutitlookslikerain · 25/09/2012 19:43

I agree Edam. I think there needs to be a massive enquiry into the school. They have seriously let Megan, and her family, down.

londonone · 25/09/2012 19:43

The importance of terminology has already been covered up thread!

pumpkinsweetie · 25/09/2012 19:43

Shock about the way the school has behaved!

We don't know that the parents weren't told. We don't know what the school, did or didn't do but its not looking great at the moment!

londonone · 25/09/2012 19:50

Oh Mary come on, you know at least a couple of those topics can be rehashed again!

Tuttutitlookslikerain · 25/09/2012 19:51

Aboutlastnight- it was implied on the television earlier that the reason that they would not have alerted her parents was just incase he was innocent, because like the person said on the TV many a parent would have hit the teacher, Megan's name would have been dragged though the mud, and the teacher's and nothing might have been going on.

They had to get all the facts apparently, that took time, and unfortunately look what happened when he allegedly realised he was going to be suspended!

Tuttutitlookslikerain · 25/09/2012 19:54

To be fair, londonone, you were the one nit picking over wether 'child' or 'adult' should be used! Hmm

So the school fucked it the fuck up?

londonone · 25/09/2012 19:57

Yes tut because I do think terminology is important. Also I was bringing up the difference between child and adolescent not child o adult!

londonone · 25/09/2012 19:59

And I would think it rare to find a fifteen year old that fitted either the descriptor child or adult, which was my point, which you seem to have missed!

Aboutlastnight · 25/09/2012 20:01

That's odd because usually a teacher would be suspended during an investigation.

I wonder why his needs took precedence over hers?

wannaBe · 25/09/2012 20:03

they probably haven't waited. But there is no way of knowing. However, as long as they say they have waited there is nothing he can be prosecuted for.

FreudiansGoldSlipper · 25/09/2012 20:11

I would have thought having a some form of relationship along with taking her out of school and out of the country he will be prosecuted

What does it matter if we refe to her as a child or adolescent. In the eyes of the law in this country she is a child more relevant she should have only had a child/adult form of relationship with him one where he acts in her best interests not to harm her in an emotional or physical way while educating her in his subject of teaching nothing else

BoneyBackJefferson · 25/09/2012 20:12

Just as an aside to this because it always annoys the hell out out me.

Pedophilia is when someone has a sexual interest in prepubescent children usually 13 or under.

Hebephilia is when sopmeone has a sexual interest in persons between 11 and 14.

Ephebophilia is when somone has a sexual interest in persons between 15 - 19.

This looks like a case that's tailor-made for the MNDA.

londonone · 25/09/2012 20:16

FFS even the law acknowledges th under 13s and under 16s are not the same.

Clearly any degree of nuance is too much for some people.
