I don't know why people keep bringing Facebook into it...chat forums have had like buttons for years before FB even started up.

Personally I'd like one because if someone has answered me personally/addressed me in some way...and I return to the thread later, I always feel ignorant for not acknowledging them, yet there's no point in copy and pasting what they said when the thread's moved on.
