It would help when scanning a thread because you could ignore the people with red minus numbers Noooooooooooooo. So, you assume that you agree with everyone and that if 20 people dislike, you will dislike and don't even read. I'm about to break Godwin's Law.

WorraLiberty · 13/09/2012 23:03

O-ho, so now you are talking!!
What would it look like?

A lot like the big red button that all world leaders have built into their desks.

Anyone gets out of line and 'BOOM!'

They get blown down the road to Netmums Wink

snigger · 13/09/2012 23:03

Actually, that was a throwaway post, but I think there's an argument for an acolyte button.

Seriously... It might be a bit redundant here on AIBU; but in the 'serious' fora where people give advice, many people 'lurk' but do not comment, and a 'like' button would be a way for those folk to register their opinion, and thereby give the OP to get a more accurate sense of what people ( and not just the gobby ones like me ) think...

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 13/09/2012 23:05

I agree with Maryz, that is an admirable Compromise...

WorraLiberty · 13/09/2012 23:06

Maryz we could have topics for all those things

We've got every other bloody topic Grin

Softlysoftly · 13/09/2012 23:06

I think it should be a pair of half moon glasses with glaring eyes peering over them Olivia

flow4 · 13/09/2012 23:07

Maryz, I'd also like a >mwahahahahahaha/evil laugh< emoticon now please! Grin

MrsVamos · 13/09/2012 23:07

Maryz

I just loves ya. I do. Grin

snigger · 13/09/2012 23:07

Am loving 'fuck off to the far side of fuck', and am appropriating for use in a card to a colleague.

MrsKeithRichards · 13/09/2012 23:08

I'd like one!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 13/09/2012 23:08

And, and, and...

We could have a wee counter next to the username at the left of the bar that gives total likes/dislikes, would be a great way to judge character. And you would retain your totals through name changes so if everyone dislikes you there is no way to have a fresh start

((manic gleam in eyes))

flow4 · 13/09/2012 23:11

LIKEmwahahaha< icon too, dontcha?!--

@Softlysoftly

I think it should be a pair of half moon glasses with glaring eyes peering over them Olivia

But I don't need bifocals!
I am only thirty four for at least another 6 weeks

MrsKeithRichards · 13/09/2012 23:12

I'm glad there's no post count here, that just creates hierarchy!

MmeLindor · 13/09/2012 23:12

oh, but then you have the whole MN Royalty discussion kicking off on every single thread, Flow. That would be miserable.

I think that the binary and is not nuanced enough for MN.

WorraLiberty · 13/09/2012 23:13

How about a monocle?

You could have one for each eye...

snigger · 13/09/2012 23:15

Nuances? I agree. Fifty shades of don't like There's a decade of discussion right there, pinning down the nuances Grin

JarethTheGoblinKing · 13/09/2012 23:17

I really want one. The MN lords decree its not to be.

flow4 · 13/09/2012 23:17

"MN Royalty discussion", MmeL..?
I am just a pleb and am obviously missing some background here Grin

OP posts:
JarethTheGoblinKing · 13/09/2012 23:17

*ladies, obv.

Nagoo · 13/09/2012 23:17

Are you saying that is we had a 'like' button, you wouldn't be constantly checking your stats to see how liked you are?

It would be horrible. I'd need counselling.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 13/09/2012 23:17

I liked Maryzs nuances..
