It might be a bit redundant here on AIBU; but in the 'serious' fora where people give advice, many people 'lurk' but do not comment, and a 'like' button would be a way for those folk to register their opinion, and thereby give the OP to get a more accurate sense of what people ( and not just the gobby ones like me ) think...

We could have a wee counter next to the username at the left of the bar that gives total likes/dislikes, would be a great way to judge character. And you would retain your totals through name changes so if everyone dislikes you there is no way to have a fresh start
