Ive wanted one for ages, it's my birthday soon so DP took me shopping and to the Build A Bear Workshop.
I felt like a right kid!
I chose a cream rabbit with floppy ears, took it to the nice lady who stuffed it and told me to chose a heart to put inside but kiss and make a wish first Blush
I was a bit spoilt for choice on the outfits but I chose some frilly socks, some knickers and a fluffy dressing gown.
Then I had to make her a birth certificate on the computer, I christened her Lola bunny.
Am I unreasonable or just plain weird to be so excited over a stuffed toy?!! :o

I would fully recommend these to anyone stuck on gifts at the moment!

I have a tiger my oh got me years ago when build a bear was the teddy bear factory, he's all dressed in DPM like a soldier and used to growl. He's called Fidel, cos he has a white beardy thing and a hat so he looks like Castro. My DD (2) has a bear her Godmother got her when she was born (he's a boy) with lots of clothes (ebay for clothes), and a girlie rollerskating lamb which cost a fortune. We aren't going back for a while, I get fleeced every time.

NameChangeGalore · 31/08/2012 18:42

Ok, seeing as you didn't get to be childish as a child, then I suppose it's okay.

I do sometimes buy toys for DD that I would have loved to have been bought when I was a child...(like the electric car that I'm too heavy to get in and ride).

Hope you enjoy your bear.

AndieMatrix · 31/08/2012 18:46

I've got two! A monkey called Seth and a really soft bear called Takeshi. :-) I totally want another one for my 30th next year.lol

GhostShip · 31/08/2012 18:47

I'm not childish in any other part of my life I'll add! I'm a carer and full time admin assistant so don't get chance to. Just a little taste of childishness :)

GhostShip · 31/08/2012 18:48

I have a Blush children in need bear and she got a vey fine new spotty dress last year. And yes I'll get her something this time too if they are still doing dotty fund raising.

Apart from a small donation to charity my excuse was my birthday is in Nov.

The DDs have several and heaps of clothes, they have been played with way more than another soft toys, dolls or horrible barbies.

bagpuss · 31/08/2012 18:51

Ds1 has two animals from there which are still on his bed (he is 11!). When we went to get them he was too little to really build them properly and so dh and I did it for him. I can still remember dh's face when the assistant asked him to give the hearts a little kiss. He was like this Confused. We left with the animals naked too! I think if I let dt1 go soon I will let dh stay at home - the miserable killjoy Grin.

MrsMeow · 31/08/2012 19:05

No way :) I made a bear for my 30th. She's called Roisin Grin

MrsMeow · 31/08/2012 19:08

BUT she has a beating heart and it scares me a bit. I'd love her more if it wasn't for her heart...

JustFabulous · 31/08/2012 19:11

I saw some roller skates in there last week. I want them for DS's bear

They have a cat which is just like FABCat but DH said I coudn't have it

GhostShip · 31/08/2012 19:15

A man who worked there had a dog one that was on all fours, on a lead with rollers skates on, he was pulling it around it looked daft but fun at the same time

I was married at 20, why not?

noddyholder · 31/08/2012 19:41

The one in brighton has a fireman suit in the window that I fancy for my cat

GhostShip · 31/08/2012 19:45

Hahahah! ^

I was spoilt for choice. I loved the Hulk one. And the chef one complete with a soft frying pan with an egg in it!

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE build a bear!! I have 2, although 1 is from when it used to be The Bear Factory. That one is a fawn Basset Hound named Paddy, and the B.A.B one is a shaggy cream dog with dark brown patches, named Muffin, Muffin has a pink collar with flowers on Blush

Neither of them have any clothes. I can't stand animals in clothes, even stuffed toy animals!

Now DH bought me one of these for Christmas about 7 years ago, we both kissed the heart! Its always travelled with us and has now beento 4 continents!! I actually bought it a tuxedo outfit a couple of years later so that it could 'attend, out engagement party Blush Obv it's extremely childish, but no less fun for that!
