Ive wanted one for ages, it's my birthday soon so DP took me shopping and to the Build A Bear Workshop.
I felt like a right kid!
I chose a cream rabbit with floppy ears, took it to the nice lady who stuffed it and told me to chose a heart to put inside but kiss and make a wish first Blush
I was a bit spoilt for choice on the outfits but I chose some frilly socks, some knickers and a fluffy dressing gown.
Then I had to make her a birth certificate on the computer, I christened her Lola bunny.
Am I unreasonable or just plain weird to be so excited over a stuffed toy?!! :o

I would fully recommend these to anyone stuck on gifts at the moment!

Yeah the storm trooper is still there, as is vadar, obi wan, iron man, hulk, tinker ell... The outfits are endless. There's a nurses scrubs one that I want when I complete my midwifery degree ha

Ha - I made DH kiss it too, since he'd only been DH for two days and I thought my bear would be quite a nice keepsake.

MrsTerryPratchett · 31/08/2012 17:13

Can Hello Kitty wear the Stormtrooper outfit?

NettOlympicSuperstar · 31/08/2012 17:14

I bought DD one for her First Christmas, when she was four months old.
Eleven years on, it's half favourite cuddly, half imaginary friend, and I totally indulge this.
It has more clothes than me and I bought it a £30 doll for Christmas last year.
I don't care what other people think.

GhostShip · 31/08/2012 17:14

Yeah she'll fit into any outfit

It wouldn't float my boat, but I agree with Phoenix I would prefer to be taken for a few pints.

nickelcognito · 31/08/2012 17:15

i think it's lovely :)

I did one for my mum for her 60th birthday - he was dressed all spacey because we went to the space centre in loughborough - he had silver trainers and a teeshirt with all the planets on (before pluto was downgraded)

i even kissed the heart for her and got a snore.

LilyCocoplatt · 31/08/2012 17:17

YANBU at all, I love build a bear, I have the hello kitty one.

mumeeee · 31/08/2012 17:21

Well it's not for me but I used to love taking the children there. DD1 25 and DD2 22 would still love to have one. I think they've still got the ones they had as children.

sweetkitty · 31/08/2012 17:23

I got one years ago DC have now claimed it. I got each of the DC one for their first Christmas they still love them. DD2 recently got the German Shepherd, complete with trainers and rollerskates for her birthday. Thy are already planning their next Build a Bear.

TheCraicDealer · 31/08/2012 17:47

Sometimes I drag my DP in so I can "laugh ironically at the accessories", but in reality I'm actually deciding in my head what I'd pick for my new best friend myself if I were 7 again.

CokeFan · 31/08/2012 17:48

I've got a build a bear cow. It's called Bono because when you squeeze its tummy it Moos in Mysterious Ways Grin

WelshMaenad · 31/08/2012 17:52

iamnotinterested my DP has spent over 300 pounds on me today, the bear was 22. I got lots of nice things, the bear was an added extra to satisfy my childish side.

dds build-a-bear used to get Christmas presents from Father Christmas. Blush I used to love buying it little outfits though they are a bloody rip off sadly dd is in that awkward phase of having temporarily outgrown it.

I don't get to be childish much, looked after myself from being a teen worked from then and lived on my own from being seventeen so indulging in my kiddy side is a rare and nice thing for me!
