AIBU to be pissed off with OH

I'll try to cut a long story short

Me and OH are both big football fans & agreed we would go to the first home game of season . When speaking about it before tickets came on sale (weeks ago) we agreed we would until they go general sale so we both could go. OH is a member so could of got his ticket before the general sale. OH basically ignored what we'd agreed and went ahead and got his ticket in the members sale and then lied to me and said he didn't get any in the general sale as they had sold out.
This morning when ask OH what he's doing he informs me he's going to football.

AIBU to have a go at him and be pissed off?

AIBU

No, YANBU to pissed off at him backing out of an agreement and then lying about it.

babybythesea · 18/08/2012 12:50

My first reaction is 'Depends on the team!'

Nope, not at all U. You don't agree to something, do something different and then lie about it.

Just out of interest though, why are you not both members if you are both big fans?

Thumbwitch · 18/08/2012 12:52

YANBU on any count. what a shit thing to do. And lying about it just compounds it. Angry

eosmum · 18/08/2012 12:53

How did he think you wouldn't find out? And when you did what did he think would happen?

frootshoots · 18/08/2012 12:53

YANBU. You both agreed to wait, he didn't wait, did it anyway, lied about it so you couldn't go. Quite a nasty thing to do imo.

Why are you not a member too?

Nannyto2 · 18/08/2012 12:53

Both had membership last season which worked well, he renewed his when he got paid but didn't do mine although agreed he would as I can't afford it At the moment

Is there a reason he doesn't want you to go with him? Seems to be doing everything he can to make it difficult for you.

Thumbwitch · 18/08/2012 12:56

Sounds worse and worse! Why doesn't he want you to go with? Is he meeting other people there?

WildWorld2004 · 18/08/2012 12:57

It sounds like he might not want you to go to the football with him.

I would say YANBU to be pissed off if you made an agreement and he didnt stick to it & then lied about it.

frootshoots · 18/08/2012 12:59

Do you out sing him and get into brawls with the away team? Grin

Nannyto2 · 18/08/2012 13:03

I've been known to be loud at the games & have too many pints and get loud with the away team fans!! Never any fights though!!

I also tend to meet a lot of mates who are 99% male at the ground. I was brought up around them as my dad is a huge fan too

YANBU. what a horrible thing to do, especially the lying. I'd be livid. How are you meant to trust him now?

ChaoticismyLife · 18/08/2012 13:06

YANBU He's gone behind your back and then lied about it Hmm

Does he make a habit of lying to you?

Nannyto2 · 18/08/2012 13:07

I can't really trust him now, from now on I'm in charge of tickets!!

I really can't believe he didn't think that I would eventually find out

OP posts:
Nannyto2 · 18/08/2012 13:26

This is the 1st time he's lied and I've found out.
I feel awful as was meeting a really close friend who I've known years and hardly see as he moved abroad and rarely gets back for games. This was planned before the fixture were released. So now I have to travel on my own to meet them all after the game when they'll be full of it

Thumbwitch · 18/08/2012 13:50

Oh Nanny - the lying and the going back on his word are bad, but if I were you I'd really want to know just why he's obviously stopping you from joining him for the match - that's just so much bigger, IMO.

And how will you know where to meet up with him and the friends - will he answer his phone to let you know where they are?

Nannyto2 · 18/08/2012 13:52

Already arranged to meet my friend in the pub by the ground so I'll be going there, I really don't care whether he comes or not as im that pissed off

OP posts:
Thumbwitch · 18/08/2012 13:53

Oh good, at least you'll get to see the friend, that's the important thing :)

Nannyto2 · 18/08/2012 13:55

Yeah thats all I'm looking forward to. OH will get a good bollocking when he returns home

OP posts:
TurncoatEwok · 18/08/2012 13:56

Damn right he should get a bollocking. What a mean thing to do. :(

Nannyto2 · 18/08/2012 14:03

Also going to accidentally loose his membership card and buy myself a ticket without getting him one!!

OP posts:
Nannyto2 · 18/08/2012 14:03
