I was one of the doubters, big time

iloveACK · 11/08/2012 21:49

Totally - loved it all in our house & it really has 'inspired a generation' given what our boys have been saying & doing & pretending to be! Grin

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 21:50

I wasn't a doubter but I was looking forward to the opening and closing ceremonies more than the actual sports.

But I'm shocked that I've watched almost everything and thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's been a brilliant 2 years for the UK what with the Royal Wedding, the Jubilee and then the Olympics.

I'm really looking forward to the Para Olympics too now.

AgentZigzag · 11/08/2012 21:51

I'm going to miss it on in the background.

I've started to expect gold medals from them all now Grin

Just watching Tom Daley C'MON TOM!

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 21:53

Me too AZZ...it got to the point where I was like >> Hmm just a Bronze then?

My DH and the boys quite rightly berated me for it Grin

SoleSource · 11/08/2012 21:57

I and my disabled DS have loved every single second. I missed the weight lifting and synchrinised swimming and I am gutted. When were these events shown?

perplexedpirate · 11/08/2012 21:58

I was sooooo cynical about the whole thing. Until about 30 seconds onto the opening ceremony; I've been obsessed since then!
Bravo us.

SoleSource · 11/08/2012 21:58

Worra Grin lovely post.

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 21:59

Sole a lot of events were shown on the 'red button' part of Sky where you could choose what you want to watch.

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 22:00
Grin
SoleSource · 11/08/2012 22:00

Synchronised not synchrinised. Grr teeny phone keyboard.

missymoss · 11/08/2012 22:00

I haven't watched any,

but will watch the Para, as I'm a therapist in the NHS for Amputees

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 22:01

You won't like it missy if you're not into sport!

SoleSource · 11/08/2012 22:01

Fecking Virgin TV.

GetDownNesbitt · 11/08/2012 22:01

I am feeling slightly bereft already. I love the Olympics. This one has been amazing.

Shenanagins · 11/08/2012 22:03

Loved it. Don't know what I'm going to do with my time now...maybe get off my fat arse and do some sport Smile

Anifrangapani · 11/08/2012 22:05

Another 4 years till the next one. Sad

BelieveInPink · 11/08/2012 22:06

I am going to be in mourning. I know it.

I've had lots of time off work and have watched most of our medal wins. The athletics, rowing, but mostly the cycling has been fantastic. Many tears shed and I am so proud.

I'm even going to miss the opening music for the Olympic programmes.

There's bound to be a montage of our best moments and I will cry and cry and cry.

SoleSource · 11/08/2012 22:06

I think Usain is going home tomorrow Sad. Mo Farah is getting hos 2nd gold medal right now bbc1. Sing along. Spice girls nooo Yay Kate Bush?

missymoss · 11/08/2012 22:07

I will watch in awe,as an O.T Assistant, for when I assist the Physio at work helping 80 year olds on the parallel bars with their new prosthesis, learning how to walk again. Makes me humble.

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 22:08

Mo Farah is getting hos

Does his wife know? Shock Grin

griphook · 11/08/2012 22:08

I enjoyed it too,

I really should hang my head in shame I haven't stopped moaning about it for the last seven years, and when I realised it clashed with my mat leave .., well it was like a banshee whining

BelieveInPink · 11/08/2012 22:09

I've gone off Bolt.

Ooh another thing I've loved...every time we get a gold, "we could be heroes plays" and I shed a little tear.

SoleSource · 11/08/2012 22:09

At tomorrows closing ceremony. Michael Johnson is HOT. His twin girls are due today aren't they ?

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 22:09

Will that help with 80yr olds Missy?

Genuine question...it's just I think the athletes will be a tad younger Grin

AlmostAHipster · 11/08/2012 22:10

I watched most of it on holiday with German sodding commentary and have loved every minute of it!

I've got a bit of grit in my eye over Tom Daley's medal.
