Yes, I notice the NC as well, nice one Bri Smile

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 11/08/2012 22:40

Zigzag, you should pass the limerick on to Luke! :) You know, if the opportunity should present itself... Grin

freddiefrog · 11/08/2012 22:40

I've loved it.

I don't know what I'm going to do with myself on Monday

ajandjjmum · 11/08/2012 22:40

I have loved every minute of the Games, and wondered how those who were 'anti' had coped - especially with the anticipated transport problems.

Lovely to see on here that some people have been converted (how could you not be?!!), and hope that everyone will take some special memories from the last couple of weeks.

I suspect I'm not the only person dreading getting back to 'normal'.

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff · 11/08/2012 22:40

Thank you for the congrats Grin

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 22:42

Thanks worraliberty. Did you manage to use YOLO in your conversations today then?

Yes

"YOLO trousers need pulling up" And then I sang "We all live in a YOLO submarine"

Not quite sure I got the hang of it Grin

jen127 · 11/08/2012 22:42

I am so not into sports especially living in an all male household. But the Olympics have been fabulous! So many highlights . Tom , mo , Katie taylor, usain bolt ! Soanu inspirational people for our children to aspire to!

Butkin · 11/08/2012 22:44

Loved every minute of it - although I always thought it would be a success.

And the packed stadiums - even with expensive ticket prices - and sponsorships will surely have offset some costs.

BlisdergamesbeginPack · 11/08/2012 22:46

Oh is that what it is Worra, we saw it but had no idea what it was Blush.

ElephantsCanRemember · 11/08/2012 22:49

I want to know how the poster coped who was moaning about the Olympics because it meant she wouldn't have time to dry her hair in the morning due to the increase in travelling time to work Grin

ssd Good on you for saying that you have changed your mind. Isn't that what part of the Olympics is about? Must admit, although I was looking forward to it, after reading so many threads about how disasterous it was going to be, I did wonder slightly. But it has been fab! Wonder what Rio will do to top it?

Puppypanic · 11/08/2012 22:50

Oh my god I have loved every single minute of this Olympics, I always watch it but it has never felt like this before and doubtless never will again. It has been the most fantastic two weeks just amazing, I don't think I've stopped grinning the whole time!

That little BBC montage just now was great, so many things happened and it feels like it's been going on for months not just a fortnight!

So very very proud to be British Torch!

Monday will be hell, I will turn the telly on at 9am and wonder where the chuff everyone is Sad.

AgentZigzag · 11/08/2012 22:51

DH's just text it to him Suzy, that means you're nearly famous too now Grin

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 11/08/2012 22:54

OMFG that's awesome! Thanks so much :)

Torch Torch Torch

PedroPonyLikesCrisps · 11/08/2012 22:57

The medals roll in for GB,
It's been pretty exciting for me,
The Olympics are cool,
(though we suck in the pool),
In the world we are now number three!

hoodoo12345 · 11/08/2012 22:57

I will cry watching the closing ceremony tomorrow, and my family will laugh at me!
I don't care, i will miss it.

LadyBeagleEyes · 11/08/2012 23:00

I've always loved the Olympics, and I remember replying on a thread about are you getting excited yet.
I said that I'd watch it wherever it was, which is true, but OMG London made it the best one ever.
I don't attend events, I'm up in the North of Scotland so tickets for me would be as far fetched as tickets from Rio.
And I only saw the Opening Ceremony on TV in Egypt, though I'm hoping to see it properly if there is a DVD released.
I will be utterly bereft on Monday morning, severe withdrawal symptons
Go Mo, Jessica and of course the JamaicansTorch

thebestisyettocome · 11/08/2012 23:03

We've all loved it in our house. This time last week we were in London excited about watching it in the flesh. Now we're all a bit sad about it finishing. Watching Mo tonight was amazing. Give that man a knighthood Grin

BelieveInPink · 11/08/2012 23:04

Opening ceremony is repeated on August 15th or 16th I believe, LadyBeagleEyes

Check the date but it is in the listings because I checked due to DD deleting it from my Sky planner.

DappyHays · 11/08/2012 23:04

I really couldn't have been arsed one way or another about the Olympics but have also enjoyed all the bits I've seen and the torch parade when it came to town.

I suprised myself by enjoying all things Jubilee as well.

What is the DappyHays world coming to?

caramelwaffle · 11/08/2012 23:07

I love it! I'm loving it! I'm looking forward to the Paralympics. I'm right in the midst of it

EmpressOfTheSevenFlames · 11/08/2012 23:19

We're not remotely into sport either. We live a couple of stops down the line from Stratford & were dreading the whole thing.

Then we decided to watch the opening ceremony anyway, & by the end we had no cynicism left.

A big part of it was the almost casual inclusivity of the opening ceremony. All colours, all ages, with and without special needs, just there and part of it. The Windrush included as a part of our history (MIL came over on it). Pride in Britain so often feels taboo, tainted by the hatefulness of the BNP & the EDL, but Danny Boyle's message was that the country belongs to all of us and we can all be proud of it - & the cuntworms who think that only whites are welcome can fuck off to the far side of fuck & when they get there, continue to fuck off indefinitely.

Stoked by that, we've listened to most of it on Radio 5, loved the sheer enthusiasm of the commentators & been screaming with excitement.

We're going to lose interest in sport again when it's over, though.

TheDoctrineOfEnnis · 11/08/2012 23:20

Ooh caramel are you in the ceremony again?

LadyBeagleEyes · 11/08/2012 23:20

Oh thanks for that BelieveInPink.

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 23:23

Oh is that what it is Worra, we saw it but had no idea what it was Blush

We googled it cos it was strange not seeing the word 'Goodyear' on it.

It turned out they had to remove the word cos Goodyear don't sponsor the olympics!

ViviPru · 11/08/2012 23:28

haha like 'North Greenwich Arena' which is just silly
