I loathe the summer especially when it's hot.

I hate been sweaty,
I hate BBQ's,
I hate the neighbours who are at this moment blasting Rhianna (sp?) while getting pissed

DP says im a miserable cow and i should be loving it, surely im not the only person like this or AIBU?

dh has to wear the most horrendous nylon trousers and thick polo shirt then spend the day in direct sunlight, he was nearly in tears this morning!

Bunbaker · 25/05/2012 08:56

I agree it is more difficult for men who have to conform to an office dress code. At least I can wear a skirt and no tights and a sleeveless top.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 25/05/2012 09:16

I love the summer, love the sun, love love love it.

Dont be miseries - we dont have it that hot and its never for long, embrace it!!

Everyone is so much more cheerful in the sun, well apart from you lot anyway Grin

Lets hope the sun is here to stay for a good long while.

susiedaisy · 25/05/2012 09:18

Love the sun on my face sat in the garden really lifts my spirits, but hate hate hate it when I am at work in hospital, sweat like a pig have stinking bad headaches and generally loose the will to live!

Anyone mentioned ironing yet? Or vacumming the stairs? I had sweat dripping off the end of my nose.

susiedaisy · 25/05/2012 09:53

"shave your shoulders" GrinGrin

TheUnMember · 25/05/2012 09:56

YANBU the heat makes one of my legs swell up like a balloon. My foot is so swollen I can barely stand on it and I can't get any shoes to fit.

Sorry but YABU. We have endless months of cold/wet - both of which I hate and everyone moans about - but as soon as it warms up people start moaning about that too!

I love this weather - can wear nice summer clothes when I go out and sit in the garden when I get home. Also, DH thinks he's the king of BBQs - and I'm not going to tell him different as it means I have less meals to prepare Grin. Also, you can't have a BBQ without a bottle glass of wine can you?

Anyway, the moaners don't need to worry too much - I'm sure the sunshine won't last long Sad

hazeyjane · 25/05/2012 10:52

but i don't moan when it is cold and wet! but for some reason i have to have rictus grin and go on about the lovely weather, while i'm walking around dizzy and sweaty and knackered.

MyMelody · 25/05/2012 10:55

I don't like it too hot either

Its like we're not having a spring this year, one day its winter and we're dressed in coats and jumpers whilst being pelted with hailstones and the next thing its absolultely baking

Oh well at least it gives us all something to talk about!

miaowmix · 25/05/2012 10:58

3 days of sun and people are moaning!
Some of us have just suffered months of miserable, cold, wet weather - let us enjoy the sun please! Grin

IAmNotACowbag · 25/05/2012 11:01

The only part of hot weather I dislike is the stuffy nights.

IAmNotACowbag · 25/05/2012 11:03

And WHAT is with the craze for french knicker style shorts this season? I'm seeing half an arse all over the show!

chipmunksex · 25/05/2012 11:48

yanbu

I hate the hot weather, why is it so unacceptable to not like it. On
the weather forecast they say it 'lovely' and 'good' when really they mean hot.

My neighbours spend all the live long day in their garden, getting drunk and swearing at each other, poor dd has to listen to this (because her bedroom is at the back) and cannot get to sleep. Sad

It's nice to hang the washing out and it to dry so quickly, but that is it.

DH is cooking in his office and then on the train home poor thing. The dc are forced to eat outside at lunch time and come home overheated and snarly.
Most importantly I cannot sleeep, because my attic bedroom is like a giant terracotta plant pot that heats up all day!

I also look shit in summer clothes.

Roll on september.

PandaWatch · 25/05/2012 12:32

YABU! It will last for about 5 days and it's not even that hot!

EVERYTHING seems better to me when the sun is shining. I think I may be solar powered.

TheUnMember · 25/05/2012 12:35

I'm allowed to moan. My foot feels like it's going to explode. The skin is stretched so tight it's gone see through. :(

juneybean · 25/05/2012 12:36

I'm too much of a northerner, hot weather does not agree with me.

PandaWatch · 25/05/2012 12:39

Fine - UnMember can moan. And you have my sympathies :(

Juneybean - being Northern is not a good enough excuse to moan. Have an ice cream and cheer up Grin

boschy · 25/05/2012 12:40

I like the IDEA of hot summer, all those Pimms and pretty dresses and strappy sandals etc.

BUT my natural skin tone is Celtic blue, adorned with freckles. This is not a good summer look, and however hard I try fake tan doesnt even take the luminosity off, not to mention the blotches where I couldnt apply it evenly.

This does really take the gloss off things for me. (plus history of melanoma and 2 red-headed daughters makes me anxious)

lolajane2009 · 25/05/2012 12:40

I hate it. gotta keep my 8 mth old and my pale skin out of the sun atm.

TwllBach · 25/05/2012 12:42

I am home from work and sitting outside in my garden where no one can see me, with my hair up, glasses on and a ratty old maxi dress. I have the washing out and the dog is pottering about and if it wasn't for the too bright headache, I would be having a perfect time Grin

If I had to go somewhere that people would see me it would be a different matter, bin for the moment I'm enjoying it.

seeingstars · 25/05/2012 12:44

I don't hate it. But if I'm having a sit down it is generally indoor or in the shade if I must, I burn very easily and have had sun stroke more than once. I don't like it at night in bed when I can't sleep because its so hot. i have to shave my legs and fits and fake tan or not. Prehaps I do hate it? Confused

TheUnMember · 25/05/2012 12:46

Thank you Panda.

Now if someone could just post me a bottle of Pimms. Purely for medicinal purposes of course.
