I loathe the summer especially when it's hot.

I hate been sweaty,
I hate BBQ's,
I hate the neighbours who are at this moment blasting Rhianna (sp?) while getting pissed

DP says im a miserable cow and i should be loving it, surely im not the only person like this or AIBU?

YANBU.

And I can't understand why the weather presenters get into ever more of a frenzy as the heat rises. Do they not realise that beyond 'warm' increasing heat does not = better.

I fucking hate this weather; roll on autumn.

Bunbaker · 24/05/2012 20:04

"And Summer clothes look stupid on me"

That is because you have the wrong wardrobe. There are summer clothes for all shapes and sizes.

CremeEggThief · 24/05/2012 20:11

YABU. We're well over due a bit of sunshine and we may as well make the most of it while we can. It's not even that hot anyway up here in the North East, 22 or 23 °C. A damn sight better than feeling grateful for 9°C this day last week anyway!

bunnyspoiler · 24/05/2012 20:12

Agree, it's not so much the heat in this country but the humidity, unless you're on the coast it's vile. Sweating the minute you get out of the shower. And travelling on the tubes in any heat is horrendous. There is also never any build up, it goes from very cold to hot in a trice and no time to acclimatise. Heat is only ok on holibobs with nothing to do but swim in the sea and pool. ideally I would emigrate for the summer months.

bobbledunk · 24/05/2012 20:28

Unusual but not unreasonableGrin

TheOneWithTheHair · 24/05/2012 20:36

I love it. I love winter too and rainy days and all sorts really. You just have to dress right.

I get very down in the winter and lack energy due to a lack of sunlight so this week has felt a bit like medicine to give me energy again. I feel happy too. :)

OctopusSting · 24/05/2012 20:40

YABVU. It is gorgeous.

Other than having to go inside due to a swarm of bees deciding to inhabit the space just outside my back door.....

Vagabond · 24/05/2012 20:45

I hate seeing fat, topless men with tattoos everywhere.
Also, am annoyed I didn't lose the the weight for my summer dresses. Winter = fat is ok. Summer is not. Am annoyed by my own failure. FAILURE! Because the Daily Mail said so........

jazzchickens · 24/05/2012 20:49

I love sunny days but there must be RULES:

It should not go above 23.5 degrees
There should be a gentle breeze
It should be cool enough to sleep at night
There should be no pollen
There should be no flying insects wearing yellow & black stripey jumpers
I should not have to go to work

Sparklingbrook · 24/05/2012 20:50

Can I add

People should look in the mirror from all angles before going out in their skimpy summer attire.

Men should keep their tops on in public.

maddening · 24/05/2012 20:50

yanbu - I turn into a puddle in this heat! Have never coped in the heat - found a school book from primary school and one bit we had obviously been told to write about our summer holidays and I complained it was too hot even then - we never went abroad for holidays or even down south - it was likely to have been Anglesey!

20° max with a breeze is spot on for me :-)

Ismeyes · 24/05/2012 20:52

I hate this weather, when is it going to snow again?

AberdeenAnxious · 24/05/2012 20:55

I'm a summer-hating misery too! I feel tired and puffy constantly because of hayfever. Summer clothes look shit on me. I don't like all the flying insects and I'm sure the hotter the weather now the bigger the spiders in September.

I like Spring, and Autumn and Winter but Summer. Meh.

FartBlossom · 24/05/2012 20:56

YANBU to not like this weather just like IANBU to not like snow.

I love sunshine and sunny days, Im also another one who loves to hang clothes outside. However, I do not like that some people become idiots in the sun. They sit in the park with their cans and bottles of alcohol, play loud music and when they leave they dont take their rubbish.

ifancyashandy · 24/05/2012 20:57

YABVVVU. I love the winter and all it's jumpers and whiskey and roasts.

But I love the summer and all it's flippy clothing and promise of fun and Pimms.

BasilDonna · 24/05/2012 20:58

Give me my rain back.

AberdeenAnxious · 24/05/2012 21:00

I do like hanging washing out. Even though it gets covered in the very stuff that causes me to be puffy and tired. Saves money though!

jazzchickens · 24/05/2012 21:01

Added to RULES list....

Dress code
No playing of crap loud music in public places
No littering
Keep the spiders out of the heat so they don't grow too big

treefumaster · 24/05/2012 21:12

No one at work to get over-excited and suggest a sports day.

Deadsouls · 24/05/2012 21:15

YABU don't worry it'll surely turn cold, rainy and windy just in time for the jubilee so wouldn't worry about it. And then you've got the whole of Autumn and winter to come

Iggly · 24/05/2012 21:21

YANBU

It's fecking 30C in our bedroom so poor DD (5 months) is not happy.

It's too hot to take the DCs out for long (here in London).

Below 25C is fine.

thaliablogs · 24/05/2012 21:24

Hate it.

Ginger4justice · 24/05/2012 21:35

So glad it's not just me. I walked outside for a grand total of about 10 minutes today (to and from car and work) and I got sweaty and my knees burnt!!

I hate being sweaty and hot and sunburnt and hayfever and all the half-naked men with stella cans. It should be no more than 20 degrees unless I don't have to work or do anything except sit in beer gardens in the shade with a tonne of sun cream and a unending supply of Pimms or Cider.

CowboysGal · 24/05/2012 21:36

YANBU at all.
It's too damn hot, I have no pool to cool off in and way too much fat to wear anything cool and light.
I never know what to make for dinner because everyone gets bored of salad.
I'm sleepy by 2pm.
The DC are extra cranky at bedtime.

Also I swear I have just ripped off the back of my leg on my leather couch because I stayed in the same position too long and my sweaty legs got stuck!!

Busyoldfool · 24/05/2012 21:37

I thought I was the only one - most people I know are saying how lovely it is. I'm too old/fat for skimpy little dresses, I can't sleep and I can't get anything done. I agreee with jazz about rules.

Add - barbeques no more than one a week in a small London garden. ( My neighbours do it EVERY night in the summer and I feel like a kipper; smoked!)
