I loathe the summer especially when it's hot.

I hate been sweaty,
I hate BBQ's,
I hate the neighbours who are at this moment blasting Rhianna (sp?) while getting pissed

DP says im a miserable cow and i should be loving it, surely im not the only person like this or AIBU?

I hate seeing fat, topless men with tattoos everywhere.

What about fat women with too much flesh on display, as well. Or can we only be mean about men here?

EmmaCate · 24/05/2012 21:42

YANBU! I have a best mate who's all about heat; her attempts to make me jealous about having it or not where she is go over my head.

I like sunshine and a temperature of about 24 degs max. unless I am installed next to a pool and doing sod all.

AkhalTeke · 24/05/2012 21:52

I hate getting all sweaty and horrible.

But, now I've had a bath and I'm in my nightie in the garden with a glass of wine, watching the bats and admiring my solar lights. Now it's fab.

KenNEddieKennedy · 24/05/2012 21:59

What a bunch of miseries.

It's SUNLIGHT!!!

HybridTheory · 24/05/2012 22:13

Don't worrry it will all be over by this time next week :)

Sparklingbrook · 24/05/2012 22:15

Sunlight=good

Humidity and sweat=bad plus nobody sleeps. Sad

MrsVamos · 24/05/2012 22:17

YANBU

I am a warm/hot weather hater too. Much prefer winter time.

treefumaster · 24/05/2012 22:24

Also can I lodge a formal complaint about my feet which have had 43 years to wear themselves in and get used to the idea that it sometimes becomes summer.

Why must they react to any temperature over 22 degrees as if they have been forced to walk over razor blades? They are looking at me reproachfully right now and frankly, I am looking reproachfully at them.

valiumredhead · 24/05/2012 22:34

Me too!

LadyBeagleEyes · 24/05/2012 22:34

I bloody love it.
Love it, love it, love it.
I live in the Highlands, me and the dog splashed around the loch today, I only had to wear a denim skirt and vest and didn't even have to carry a coat.
We had ice cream outside the village shop, and then I had salmon, new potatoes and salad for tea.
And it's still light out there.

brighthair · 24/05/2012 22:35

Yanbu
I have cholinergic urticaria and am v itchy and lots of hives today despite the 4 antihistamines
When it's really bad I sit in a bath with ice and cold water to bring them down Angry

I agree with the "No such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes"
but I don't like flying things, especially those nasty shiney black beetles.
BO
People not wearing enough clothes
And my patients at work, complaing about "Oh I don't like the heat"
OK, I can appreciate if people are not in good health they can't tolerate heat well.
But they come into the room complaing about the heat.
"Do you like the heat"?
I say I don't mind (not that I love or hate.I don't mind )
Then they try to have a debate about it, because obviously I am wrong

Thank gawd for the Jubilee and the Olympics, I quickly get the subject onto that.
And this is 17-18 times a day

Sparklingbrook · 24/05/2012 22:52

And the 'let's eat outside' fanatics. Ooh yes, mines a wasp salad and bluebottle coleslaw lovely, thanks.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/05/2012 22:53

With added moths if you have outdoor lights Grin

lunamoon · 24/05/2012 23:02

YABU.
I love it!
I have waited a long time for the sun to show it's face.
My garden has been crying out for heat and now that it is here my flowers are starting to show-at last!
I hate having to wear a coat plus scarf, gloves, plus several layers of clothing.
I love seeing people in sunglasses and coloured clothes (or anything other than totally black).
I do agree about topless men though, noneed for that.

hazeyjane · 25/05/2012 06:00

I don't get the 'wrong clothes' thing. This works with cold/wet weather, because I have lovely warm coats and hats and waterproofs, but in hot weather unless I start walking around butt naked there is only so much I can take off.

And poor ds has spent half the night wanting to be cuddled which has turned him into a big sweaty mess.

I'm glad this thread is here to have a moan on, because moaning about hot weather is NOT THE DONE THING in real life!

Sparklingbrook · 25/05/2012 06:21

It is 6.20am. It is already too hot Sad I will go and have a shower then by the time I am dried and dressed I will be a big sweaty mess again.

TwllBach · 25/05/2012 06:53

I secretly hate it too. I love the sun but I am too fat for arms to come out and legs above the knee, so not only do I look stupid in cardigan and leggings, I feel stupid because I am obviously sweating and some twat at work says "why don't you take your cardigan off then?" and I feel like saying "because I'm too faaaaaaaat you tool, use your eeeeeeyyyyyyeeeees"

Grumble grumble grumble.

Bunbaker · 25/05/2012 07:07

"Summer clothes look shit on me"

I don't buy that argument. Buy some that suit you then. Summer clothes don't all have to be skimpy little numbers. My thighs are less than pefect so I cover them up in public - maxi dresses, long, floaty skirts, loose cropped trousers, loose linen trousers.

In this weather I can save money by not having the heating on, hanging my washing outside, not needing the lights on. I use the cooker less because we eat more salad and we watch less TV.

I love this weather Grin, but then I don't live in London.

RubyGates · 25/05/2012 07:12

It's got too hot too quickly. We've gone from last Tuesday where it hailed and the hailstones were still on the ground looking like snow 2 hours later, to this. It's riidiculous!

Yay! My laundry's (finally) dry. (I thought I should find something positive to say).

I'm a spring and autumn person. And we were deprived of spring this year.

CanISawItOff · 25/05/2012 07:13

Yanbu. Im stuck in an office where the landlords refuse to switch the heating off and the air con on.

I have hyperhydrosis. Its not a pretty sight!

Sparklingbrook · 25/05/2012 07:32

I am a really sad case re summer clothes. it's the footwear thing really. Jeans and boots-great. Summer skirts mean sandals/flip flops leading to hot feet and blisters, and having to have a pedicure.

Bunbaker · 25/05/2012 07:33

"It's got too hot too quickly."

I agree.Yesterday's temperature was 20 degrees higher than this time last week.

BodaciousTatas · 25/05/2012 07:37

I love it in the sense I can hang my washing up in the garden and by the time I get home its all dry, I also prefer summer clothes and sandals to winter stuff.

But I spend a lot of the day in and out of the car going to different appointments so by the time I get home I am less than fresh, also my hair looks like candy floss.
