I've just seen that Derek Acorah is claiming to have been advised by the spirit world that Madeline McCann is no longer alive.

I have an open mind when it comes to psychics but I have heard in the past that Acorah has been discredited on numerous occasions.

To me, this is just a cruel thing to do. I have my own opinions about the tragedy of the disappearance of Madeline and I have often wondered whether her parents would prefer to know if she had sadly passed away, closure? Who knows what it is like to be in their position? But some bloke, claiming that 'Sam' told him she's dead is not closure, it's just cruel IMO.

If this had come from a well respected psychic, I think I might give it more credence (as I said Im open-minded), but it comes from a man who is widely considered a charleton.

Is he a bad man, who is using the grief of parents to make a few quid from the papers or is he crazy enough to think that this really was helpful?

I had one friend lose her mum to suicide, and some smart arse "psychic" decided to tell her that her mum didn't choose to die and that "someone else was involved". Fucking piece of shit had my friend freaking out and seeing conspiracies everywhere, because that's what a grief stricken 18 year old needed most!

I went to see him live in Manchester for a giggle. He singled out one woman who's family member had apparently commited suicide and did this weird routine about a man with one leg hopping up & down the stage. At the interval we saw the 'devasted' woman laughing & joking in the bar, then the following night saw him on the local news in Liverpool doing the same one legged man routine just with a different name!
I really enjoyed Most Haunted when it started, never believed it but it was always fun. What got on my nerves was the whole Yvette Fielding screaming thing and her obsession with evil witches.

Doormat- it's not an opinion, it's fact. I have loads of evidence that it's a fact- starting with fact that every single one of these people who has ever been properly investigated has proved to be a fraud. And the is no evidence at all to support there being such powers. Is there?

He was on Radio Leeds today saying he had been misquoted. He wouldn't say the name of the reporter(although it was on the front of the Sun)and wouldn't explain how he was misquoted...just kept wittering on. The interviewer asked if it had been recorded and he said he didn't know. Yeah right...the interviewer rang The Sun to ask them.

Oh and he has a tour on at the moment - make of that what you will.

I'm not. I'm just a person with a fully functioning brain and a knowledge of critical thinking.

Evidence or no evidence he isnt really mad for saying what he did as there is a high chance statistically that it is true but he was mad to tell a newspaper reporter.....lets hope he dont get sued!
Kind of liked Derek back in the day and i admit i was an avid fan of most haunted till he left!

Considering no 'psychic' has ever been proven to have powers when deprived of the opportunity to cheat nor given any answers correctly at a greater percentage than random chance. Ever. It says more about the vulnerable people then the deluded gits that scam them for money, fame or good standing in the community.

If they cared one red cent about the customers they would advise them of people that can really help with their grief. Talking about people's dead babies? Makes me angry and sick - as if you aren't hurting enough.
As for the fanboys that promulgate the myth, maybe they should think about their culpability in aiding the damaging of another person for profit or ego. Shameful.
