to think that Derek Acorah is either mad or bad?

I've just seen that Derek Acorah is claiming to have been advised by the spirit world that Madeline McCann is no longer alive.

I have an open mind when it comes to psychics but I have heard in the past that Acorah has been discredited on numerous occasions.

To me, this is just a cruel thing to do. I have my own opinions about the tragedy of the disappearance of Madeline and I have often wondered whether her parents would prefer to know if she had sadly passed away, closure? Who knows what it is like to be in their position? But some bloke, claiming that 'Sam' told him she's dead is not closure, it's just cruel IMO.

If this had come from a well respected psychic, I think I might give it more credence (as I said Im open-minded), but it comes from a man who is widely considered a charleton.

Is he a bad man, who is using the grief of parents to make a few quid from the papers or is he crazy enough to think that this really was helpful?

just watche the Youtube clip of her calling him a fake bastard and I think it was a total set up...she and her team realised that his performances were becoming more and more histrionic and silly and so to distance themselves they let that remark of hers slip out and into the public domain.

a true medium would not give out this information

plz dont let this put you off mediums as i know of an excellent one....he did a reading for my dh (who doesnt believe in this stuff at all) and told him about his grandmother wasnt happy about being left on the shelf....his nan had been dead for over 5 yrs, so none of knew what he was on about...out of curiosity i phoned the funeral parlour and it transpired that not one of dh's relative had collected the nana ashes...hence her being left on the shelf....without this medium she would of remained there today...it can be verified by facts and dates....this story is going in the mediums new book

Yes, they're all fakes. I remember a few years ago someone exposed Doris Stokes. People used to write to her saying things like "My dear husband Dave just died", and then she'd send them free tickets for her show. During the show she'd say, "I've got a message from someone called Dave who wants to speak to his wife Mary..." etc etc. Totally transparent and pathetic.

Derek Acorah is clearly a particularly nasty piece of work to exploit Madeleine McCann's death in this way.

He kept saying "Ron from the docks, you know Ron - he's here for you - from the docks" She went bright red and kept saying it didn't mean anyhing to her. Well he fucking lost it and screamed at her "don't you do this to me - don't you dare do this to me!" while being all jabby fingered

He did the same when I went to see him live - although it wasn't Ron from the docks, it was Maureen. He started shouting "Maureen has come for you, you know Maureen, YOU NEED TO CLAIM MAUREEN!" to a poor bemused woman - before moving on to the "spirit" of a dead baby who "belonged to a family who once holiday-ed in a caravan" Sad. I shit you not.

yes i do think they believe it getorf or they have been doing it so long that they have convinced themselves its true , I really dont buy into the whole phsycic medium thing although i know people who do, My mil when alive did I think the old auntie got her into it when she was having a hard time when her sons were little , I dont think aunt was evil though she was a lovely woman believed in her gift she also went to spiritulist church and was an elder , just i dont think its real any of it ,

It's funny how they can never give specific detailsHmm. If he 'knows' someone had died, then give the details to the police and prove it.

It's always so vague. Can you imagine breaking through the veil between life and death to inform someone a button has fallen off their coat and that they ought to steer clear of margarine for the forseeable future?Confused

I saw Derek live once - a friend wanted to go. He was tractor beaming in on the poor woman in front of us. I was mesmerised I admit, but only at his overly coiffed hairdo.

My friend and I used to love getting a bottle of wine and sitting down to an evening of Most Haunted viewing. It was clearly all bullshit, but terrifically entertaining nonetheless.

IMO Derek Pakorah (as he was affectionately known in our house) is a fucking charlatan.

I can't stand him. Used to enjoy most haunted when it first started but then it got daft. How disrespectful and selfish to make comments like that. I'm horrified.

Saying that, I do believe in psychics. Some are fakes, naturally, and I think all of them pad with lucky guesses or random gestures (it's amazing how many spirits have wanted to give me flowers!). But I saw one once who said he had a Tom who worked with steel. I had a great uncle Tom who I adored who was a steel worker. He then told me a story about him cutting chewing gum out of my hair when I was 6 because nobody else could and my mam crying as he did it. My mam never cries and i could not remember the incident and it seemed a random thing for my great uncle to do. So I said no, it meant nothing and he moved on. Phoned my mam, told her about it and it turned out to be true.

mardybra i have to disagree.....there are many out there unlike derek or sally et al that do have the gift..these ppl are very rare and very talented...and we shouldnt tar them all with the same brush...

the police do often use mediums and psychics in their investigations..this is a known fact ...

of course he is a fake. Recommend reading Houdini's life story - he spent many years replicating the tricks of psychics and mediums - offered a prize for any one of them that could not be proved fake.
