to think that Derek Acorah is either mad or bad?

I've just seen that Derek Acorah is claiming to have been advised by the spirit world that Madeline McCann is no longer alive.

I have an open mind when it comes to psychics but I have heard in the past that Acorah has been discredited on numerous occasions.

To me, this is just a cruel thing to do. I have my own opinions about the tragedy of the disappearance of Madeline and I have often wondered whether her parents would prefer to know if she had sadly passed away, closure? Who knows what it is like to be in their position? But some bloke, claiming that 'Sam' told him she's dead is not closure, it's just cruel IMO.

If this had come from a well respected psychic, I think I might give it more credence (as I said Im open-minded), but it comes from a man who is widely considered a charleton.

Is he a bad man, who is using the grief of parents to make a few quid from the papers or is he crazy enough to think that this really was helpful?

The most damning evidence in the case against Acorah happened on a Most Haunted shoot at Bodmin Jail in Cornwall. Acorah became possessed by the spirit of a man called Kreed Kafer. The medium?s ghost-white face twisted in the dark as he blurted out the name: ?Kreed Kafer! Kreed Kafer!?

One big problem: Acorah had been set up.

Most Haunted?s parapsychologist, Dr Ciarán O?Keeffe, had become suspicious of Acorah?s ?powers?. O?Keeffe invented the name Kreed Kafer ? an anagram of ?Derek Faker? ? and says he asked a crew member to mention it to Acorah before filming.

?I honestly didn?t think Derek would take the bait,? said O?Keeffe. ?But during filming he actually got possessed by my fictional character!?

Derek Acorah is just stupid.. I watched him a couple of times on Most Haunted with my friends.
He clearly knew nothing about the history of the times or the areas that the featured 'Haunted' properties were built in.
For example one property was far too modern (ok, still 200 years old) for the type of ghosts he said were there & for the events that he alleged took place.

How dare he even get involved in talking about Madeline McCann - her parents have enough to deal with & don't need a weird fake psychic using their child for his own publicity.

I've never watched a full episode of Most Haunted - just the clips of them being caught faking. You've got to hand it to old Degsy though - he can act. There was a lovely clip of him being violently "possessed" and falling backwards... but he only fell after having a sneaky peek behind him to make sure he wasn't about to fall onto anything potentially injurious

Oh, and Mary loves Dick.

I had a reading with him before he was famous, and before I caught on to myself.

He is THICK as MINCE. His agent doesn't miss a trick. His real name isn't Acorah, it's Roach. Derek Roach, sleb dickhead.

I went to see him live - he is shit and after getting it badly wrong 4 times in a row - he singled a woman out and made her stand up with a spolight on her and shoved a mic in her hand.

He kept saying "Ron from the docks, you know Ron - he's here for you - from the docks" She went bright red and kept saying it didn't mean anyhing to her. Well he fucking lost it and screamed at her "don't you do this to me - don't you dare do this to me!" while being all jabby fingered

He was sweating like a pig and the show came to an upbrupt end

So I don't rate him and think he's a twat for jumping on this particular bandwagon and then massively backtracking

Derek acorah is a sharlatan! He got caught out on most haunted and was checked off the show iirc.

Complete twunt - he's simply trying to get himself a bit of publicity and this is a vile way to go about it.

OMFG! Mary loves Dick! PMSL at that clip. Most haunted used to be hilarious when Derek was on it- he was the only reason I watched it. He used to bang on about negative energies all the time and when he got "entered" by a spirit it was always comedy gold.

Did 'Sam' speak in a strong Northern accent like all of his 'spirits'?

He is a vile man. But remember all the fuss about Sally Morgan sending out scouts to get information from the audience which would then be fed through an earpiece? I don't think it affected her audiences. Didn't PT Barnum say something along the lines of 'Nobody wants their credulity pointed out to them'?

there is a magician/illusionist paul Zennon i think he is called he did a documentary a few years ago on how they do it , he was also on this morning a few months ago , when they did phsycic week , dismissing a phsycic ,
DH old auntie used to read tealeaves she did believe in what she was doing but would also read local papers for news and deaths and births before going to see people and also she knew a lot of town gossips , she once told me a neighbour who died was looking after me , his death was sudden and in the newspaper a week before i saw her ,
