Leave the Bastard! Grin

ChippyMinton · 13/05/2012 17:28

Your DP is correct. Sorry Grin
Sprinkles are short lengths, 100s & 1000s are teeny balls.

JustFab · 13/05/2012 17:29

Yep. Your DH is right.

AllYoursBabooshka · 13/05/2012 17:29

Yy Chippy.

I hate sprinkles and love hundred and thousands.

YABU! :o

ChangingForTheBetter · 13/05/2012 17:30

What chippy said. :)

fluffiphlox · 13/05/2012 17:31

How old is your DP that this should matter?

RabidAnchovy · 13/05/2012 17:32

33 years old Hmm

izzyizin · 13/05/2012 17:34

Tell him that buying teeny balls sprinkles when he tinkles must have been a double Freudian slip on your part.

fluffiphlox · 13/05/2012 17:35

I think, therefore, he should indeed wear the trifle, with added sprinkles. Wink

leguminous · 13/05/2012 17:35

Hand him a sharp knife and tell him he can cut up the sprinkles until they're the same size as hundreds and thousands. Should only take about a day. Grin

insancerre · 13/05/2012 17:37

does he not know ther's a recession on, it's the cutbacks
they are not hundreds and thousands anymore
they are just hundreds

When I was a child we always had hundreds and thousands and they were definitely little sticks like lots of numbet ones I presumed. Sprinkles are more of an American term i thought. I'm 46 so maybe there were different terms. We never had those little balls. I wouldn't like either on trifle though! We used to put them on fairy or butterfly cakes (no cupcakes in the 70s)

Flisspaps · 13/05/2012 17:46

I thought hundreds and thousands ANF sprinkles were the little sticks.

Every day's a school day!

WhiteTrash · 13/05/2012 17:48

What?! I always thought the colourful little lines were hundrens and thousands and the silver balls were called little silver balls!

LetsKateWin · 13/05/2012 17:49

According to Wikipedia

Molehillmountain · 13/05/2012 17:50

I thought 'sprinkles' was the generic term for all small bits of sugary stuff that get sprinkled on cakes and puddings. In my day, the short lengths were called sugar strands and the teeny balls were hundreds and thousands. The least said about Angelica the better...

RabidAnchovy · 13/05/2012 17:51

I have brought little balls he wanted little strands....personally I like flaked nuts on my trifle but DP is allergic to nuts Hmm

OP posts:
bronze · 13/05/2012 17:53

I thought they were one and the same and google images does too.

bronze · 13/05/2012 17:54

Did you know the little silver balls are banned in some US States?

WhiteTrash · 13/05/2012 17:54

Blimey, when you google image 'Hundreds and thousands' you dont expect to see a vagina.

FWIW OP the internet says youre right.

AllYoursBabooshka · 13/05/2012 17:54

In that case he's wrong.

You bought actual hundreds and thousands, He wanted sprinkles.

hackmum · 13/05/2012 17:54

I'm with the OP. Hundreds and thousands and sprinkles are exactly the same thing, and sprinkles is just an American term.

darthsillius · 13/05/2012 17:56

The picture of sprinkles on that cake on Wikipedia are too thick for the hundreds and thousands I was thinking of. They were very thin.

GobblersKnob · 13/05/2012 17:58

In that case he can glue the sprinkles together to make hundreds and thousands, a little line of four should do it, shouldn't take him long.

Or he can fuck of to the far side of fuck and when he gets there he can fuck off some more (love that).

OR he can stop moaning and say 'Thank you very much for the trifle'.
