Where has it gone? Just as I was about to start sprucing it up for the jubilee and start tatting the bunting?

Umami · 12/07/2012 17:17

I found my petticoats to be damp after Evensong yesterday, but I put that down to the presence of the new curate.

Fiderer · 12/07/2012 17:20

Poor Mini - have some of Fiddy's Giddy.

It has some sort of anti-matter swirly sciencey thingy left to us by Miss Entropy. Makes you less giddy

Minimammoth · 12/07/2012 17:30

We shall prevail Fiddy. Chin up old bean. Umami I wondered about those sounds coming from the confessional. I hope you are shriven.

OP posts:
Fiderer · 12/07/2012 17:35

Chin up indeed, Mini.

I did hear what sounded like prayer from the confessional. Many seemingly reverent cries and breathing which was tellingly holy.

Umami · 12/07/2012 17:56

The young Father was certainly shriven afterwards.

Hullygully · 12/07/2012 18:00
Jins · 12/07/2012 18:36

There's some truly disgraceful behaviour going on in the Hall these recent days.

I shall call for a priest

Jins · 13/07/2012 10:55

Ladies they have finished loading my essential packing for our trip

I fear I have forgotten something. I hate packing light.

There is a little room left for your portmanteaux

Fiderer · 13/07/2012 17:39

We're going to need another boat then for the barrels of tisanes. Dehydration at sea is dangerous.

Jins · 13/07/2012 17:57

Are we taking Mr Rochester?

Fiderer · 13/07/2012 18:19

I think we should. The sea air will revive him. I fear he has been sorely neglected of late as the Hall has been so quiet.

I shall tatt a hammock for his leg.

Minimammoth · 13/07/2012 19:10

That leg will need a restraint.

Hullygully · 14/07/2012 10:56

Ladies, tomorrow at first light I set sail on my annual pilgrimage to spread the word of posset across the globe. I bid you a soggy summer blessing and entrust all the tender orphans to your care. I know the good ship IPOAT will sail straight and true under your gloved and steady hands lies

Adieu mes bravettes!

Jins · 14/07/2012 12:21

Mistress Hully you are selfless in your determination to spread possets to the unenlightened.

I hope you have a fair few yourself :)

I shall be venturing to foreign climes in early August. Paris is fortunately relatively civilised and there are many places where a lady may sit and contemplate Art and Music. Especially in Montmartre where I will stay.

Minimammoth · 14/07/2012 15:42

Fairwell on your journeying dear ladies. Apart from the odd excursion and outings to take the waters we will hold the hall safe, and we shall refurbish the distillery herb drying shed and tend the orphans in your absence.

OP posts:
Fiderer · 14/07/2012 17:49

Yes, Mini, we shall have to cancel the flotilla. Staying at the Hall shall be such fun. We can have card games on the verandah and musical evenings.

Note to the footman - please go down to the cove and bring Mr Rochester and his leg back to the Hall. The hammock too. We could play cat's cradle with it.

Jins · 14/07/2012 19:22

I'm still here for a few weeks and my luggage is packed

Get that flotilla sailing. We're off on an excursion Grin

Minimammoth · 15/07/2012 20:46

The carribean?

OP posts:
Fiderer · 16/07/2012 12:23

The Caribbean it is then. Am I right in thinking that our local cove pirates have some fellow buccaneers there?

Jins · 16/07/2012 12:44

I can't think of a better place than the Caribbean for a summer jaunt.

What fun that our pirates have friends!

Fiderer · 16/07/2012 13:09

It is very hot in the Caribbean and I believe entirely natural that one does not have to use stays and that petticoats can be reduced to a minimum. Also pirates will not expect us to dress for dinner Shock Perhaps we shall find it a most educational journey.

Minimammoth · 16/07/2012 13:11

My spelling is about to go into creative modethank god Hully is away.
Avast behind and pass the posset duchie.

OP posts:
Jins · 16/07/2012 13:12

That's not my experience of the Caribbean Shock

They are very formal

Fiderer · 16/07/2012 14:07

You should have covered your arms, Jins. I was thinking of reducing our petticoats from 12 to 3, that was shocking enough. That and no formal evening attire.

Fiderer · 16/07/2012 14:08

And no hat?
