Ugly on the inside and the outside......

OP posts:

By Samantha Brick.

Possibly in the same sense as novels 'By' Katie Price and 'By' Naomi Campbell.

TrollopDollop · 03/04/2012 20:19

She's good looking but in an everyday type of way. I certainly wouldn't class her as beautiful. However, good on her for having such a high opinion of herself.

I have to say though I would only have expected this type of shite from the Daily female hater. They seem to enjoy perpetuating this type of tripe. As in; All women care about is what they look like, what other women look like, they can't get on and are out to get the pretty ones. Yesterday I noticed an article about why a woman over 47 shouldn't wear a bikini. Its all load of misogynist vile twoddle.

Fairyliz · 03/04/2012 20:19

Do you think she did it for the money? I wonder how much the DM pay, I might be tempted even though I look like the back end of a bus!

catgirl1976 · 03/04/2012 20:21

I was interviewed for the Star a looong time ago

The resulting feature bore little resebelance to what I actually said / think.

Hownoobrooncoo · 03/04/2012 20:21

I feel a bit sorry for her unless she's hooting with laughter at getting the attention and reaction she wanted, if so she's quite clever.

Actually saw a jaw dropping stunningly beautiful girl who served me in Warehouse last week, I so wanted to tell her she was very beautiful but though she would think I was a big freak! Blush

wheresthepopcorn · 03/04/2012 20:23

Typical Daily Mail windup

Jinsei · 03/04/2012 20:23

What a very odd article. I'm no oil painting myself, but I know some very attractive people and I don't think anyone blanks them for it. Nobody brings them unexpected bottles of bubbly either. Hmm

PMSL at the idea of her female bosses not promoting her because of their insecurities. Maybe she was just crap at her job. Grin

SodoffBaldrick · 03/04/2012 20:23

LineRunner, it's written in the first person.

Presumambly your misquoted article was written by someone else?

I understand the concept of ghost-writers, but are you saying that every journo has their own behind-the-scenes ghost-writer, and that the journo themselves is only the 'face'? Confused

Exactly how big is the DM's budget to able to employ this many people, so many of whom are apparently redundant in that they don't even write for themselves?

LineRunner · 03/04/2012 20:23

catgirl, The Star???! Seriously?

catgirl1976 · 03/04/2012 20:24
Blush

I featured in it a few times. In a past life (at Uni, for cash)

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 03/04/2012 20:26

You mean it isn't all Katie and Naomi's own work Line?

Well, I'm shocked Shock

But that's why I said appears, only she can't claim to be misquoted with her name on the byline.

LineRunner · 03/04/2012 20:27

SofoffBaldrick, I've had a complete interview with me fabricated in (another) newspaper!

Anyway, I accept that the subject may have written much of it herself, if you know that that is common practice at the Daily Mail for this to happen.

Doesn't really affect my view of it being shite.

SwedishEdith · 03/04/2012 20:27

I thought I was speechless at this but then read this bit Grin:

"Take last summer and a birthday party I attended with my husband. At one point the host, who was celebrating his 50th, decided he wanted a photo with all the women guests. Positioning us, the photographer suggested I stand immediately to his right for the shot.
Another woman I barely knew pushed me out of the way, shouting it wasn?t fair on all the other women if I was dominating the snap. I was devastated and burst into tears"

She just sounds dreadful.

Mrbojangles1 · 03/04/2012 20:27

I did think that, I was thinking your not that hot

scottishmummy · 03/04/2012 20:28

dont expect a gold standandard in truth
and what the he'll did you have to be interviewed about in star it's hardly high brow?did you marry an alien?mil a lizard?tan gone wrong

LineRunner · 03/04/2012 20:29

Ah yes, catgirl, I dimly remember another thread, now!

SodoffBaldrick · 03/04/2012 20:29

"SofoffBaldrick, I've had a complete interview with me fabricated in (another) newspaper!"

Not questioning that - if it's written by someone else, it's probably par for the course to be misquoted.

This has her byline and her photo and I don't accept that every journo on the DM and/or any other paper is only a face for a ghost-writer...!

catgirl1976 · 03/04/2012 20:30

I married a badly tanned alien lizard. And used to appear in my pants on occassion :(

LineRunner · 03/04/2012 20:31

I honestly haven't been interviewed by the DM, scottishmummy. Swear down.

DizzyKipper · 03/04/2012 20:32

lol she's nothing special. OH says she's alright but not stunning though, which were also my faults (we do have some friends who are actually stunning and who I am slightly envious of lol, not this woman though).
Some one's a bit deluded Wink

ThePathanKhansWitch · 03/04/2012 20:32

Grin Catgirl I want you on a night out, you sound gas!

catgirl1976 · 03/04/2012 20:35

Grin name the date Pathkan - I'll bring booze - lots of booze

I work with an outstandingly pretty girl. It is common for people to remark to me on how pretty she is, and how great her clothes are, and how they'd love to look like her.

She is the nicest, most modest girl you could meet. I couldn't imagine her ever writing such an article even though she'd have tonnes of anecdotes.

I can only imagine this DM girl saw £££ and wrote this drivel out of a desire for the cash. If that's the case I can almost see the point of making herself look so foolish. Otherwise I can only assume she's just foolish.
